Let me ask you a different question.

Do you think video games peaked ~10 years ago? And now it's just... meh?

And I'd answer to say that they are certainly different from a decade ago, but gems are still to be found in the video game world.

Nah, not if you consider the whole package. Animation itself has gotten significantly better in some areas; but I would agree that as we become more familiar with the same tropes a lot of them can become "samey-samey".

But stories, many of them are as old as time and follow the same "hero story" (the literary concept of story development) so you can't expect much.

The object isn't the issue..

But Anime Rips in 'Murica is always low bitrate..

It looks ok in Slow, still scenes,  but as soon as anything MOVES, u know in a MOVIE,  it turns into this..

The 1st image is what the majority of anime fans are watching..

It's the same frame extracted from a wide-distribution encoding, and the other from bluray

EDIT: Anyone watch Dragon Prince yet? Only put this here cause some people consider Avatar anime. Getting good ratings; but new berserk put a bad taste in my mouth for this type of animation

So what's good this season? I haven't had the time to check many out. Only series that I'm really following are Goblin Slayer, the slime reincarnation one and Gurazeni S2.

I've read a few chapters of the Bunny girl manga and it seemed okay but I don't really have time to check out the 10-15 high school romance anime that air any given season.

The new Castlevania episodes are excellent, it's almost as if they listened to what all the fans of the series were suggesting after season 1. Amazing, great fan service, totally geeked out.

Wow, did y'all see Kizumonogatari..   3 part movie,  80gb remux on nyaa.

The art is anime, and the anime is art.

Upon viewing, it washes over your mind. Not quite a feeling, not a message, not a story, not an experience.,  Rather it's a thorough demonstration of the incredibly refined-EYE of jpn animation.

Tp4 rec, watch on ur best monitors,  there are very nuanced screen color casts that caused alot of banding when I attempted to watch on my cheapee..

Well.. it's noir-colored, so nothing sharp haha..

Tp4 = poorly educated, and so w0rds no good.

Merely trying to convey that , it's an anime that is completely familiar, and so the plot is invisible, or at most a shadow of the whole; even without a standard architecture. the smoothness, composition and framing of the scenes create a genuine sense of flow..

It generally takes me a long time to watch "hyped" shows, with that being said; I've got hooked on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and it's super good. The power schemes didn't really do it for me at first in concept, but the whole series has a comedic aspect to it (aside from the on the nose jokes) that has made it really enjoyable. Definitely recommend.

The manga is terrific, but during and after the fifth arc it gets way--too-long. The second and fourth arcs are my favorite. The fifth is when Araki gets bat-s**t nuts. Over the top nuts.
I've never watched the anime.

It's  like sword art online,  but without the pathetic protagonists.

So, it's as if one punch man + sword art online

S1 is great, s2 (push through  it), s3 is great

Been watching several series lately and still looking for something as good as Grimgar; very underrated and one of the best IMO.

The latest one I've been watching is Zombieland Saga, don't know if I'm just too bored or if its actually funny. There were couple of scenes in several episodes that I cried laughing.

Watchn' Megalo Box bluray ..

Mmmmmm... I'm still not digging the 720x405 resolution that they scanned the show in at..

Overall it looks good on my 16" viewable CRT,  but not great on the big screen.

Also, just noticed this supposed signature of the character Junkdog.

This is highly improbable a signature for this character..  The strokes and pauses are too highly refined, indicative of an experienced calligrapher rather than a bookless fighter.
