Can clear be made doubleshot? You could do All the switch types then.

A set of country flags might be neat too - in a minimalist kind of way, not the whole flag centered on a keycap. I.e. white star on a blue cap for USA, red maple leaf on a white cap for Canada, etc. It would be hard to do countries like Germany, Russia, UK, etc that are stripes edge to edge in more than 2 colors. Not sure how that could work.

Yeah, people have asked for clear legends before and SP has said no.  (Not sure if can't or won't.)

Won't

Can, but Won't.

The mesh behind the key blocks a lot of light (or very uneven lighting).

That's what I'm talking about. But I prefer the monocle on the other eye, and/or with a string *héhé.

But it doesn't change a lot

Looks like my Grado's.

I think it'd be good as a Dyesub, but the gimbals might have to be made a bit thicker, comparing to my Portal R1 set.

Actually, on doublechecking, They might be able to get that thin on Dyesub. B'sides, all these white on blacks should be PBT.

Well, since Deck has translucent keys, apparently from SP, it should be possible.

A combination of a two part keycap with dye sublimation made this:

(all rights belong to ripster)

Maybe they could do a new run, if Deck allows ot off course, with a new font or different keys. Problem is, these keys work best on a board with the led above the stem. I tried a key on a board where the stem is under the stem or switch and it gives off a very uneven lighting.

They don't have to be white on black. Just brainstorming. What font is the R3 set? I'd want a "NERD" key to go with the glasses.

I have Grados also, so that's what they are supposed to be, I can try to stylize them more though.

Dye Subs?  I'm guessing we would hit copyright issues with most sprites.

We could get creative, and do alt flags for some countries... like this one for Ile de France:

Well probably multicolored 'tripleshot' or 'multishot' keys are possible from a technical point of view. It is just that it would be cost-prohitive because the molds get a lot more complex.
Think uneven spreading, cooling problems and a complete replacement of the current machines.

It's been done, though not by SP I think.  If ripster were still with us he would post his triple-shot picture as he was fond of doing whenever anyone brought it up. :rain:

For a Realforce 87u?

And to that..  How much different are Cherry caps to Topre caps?  Assuming they share basic dimensions, and that it's the underside where the cap connects that's different.. how much modification would be needed to get a Cherry cap to fit a topre switch?  I tried searching for this but nothing obvious came up so I assume it's not very simple.
