what do they do all day?

Ferrets have two settings: "sleep", and "living blur". The former is just about the only time I can snag a picture of them. When they're not sleeping (about 20 hrs a day), they're partying like it's on sale in their "room", or they have the run of the apartment with adult supervision while I play with them.

Here's my dog Mallows.

She's an energetic one. I love her dearly. Have to put her into submissive mode at least twice a day because, of her needle-like bites.

Are they able to "escape" the cage though?

Nah, the vertical wires are too close together to fit the little one's head between, and the horizontal wires are spaced far enough apart they can't climb. They're not ballsy enough to try and jump over from the second floor of the cage, they've long since figured out that falling is painful so they're careful around edges.

super sad update:

There was a stray cat I took care of, I called him Skinny Cat. He was semi-feral, he wouldnt willingly let anyone touch him. I fed him for about two years and he had shelter I made him. Well on saturday I was informed that he had been hit and was laying in the road

That was quite the walk home carrying my little buddy who was no longer with us

Oh she's quite the energetic one. Just the other day she chewed on my headphone cord and my ethernet line to my room. I love her to death though.

African cichlids. They're fresh water, pretty hearty, and come in fun colors. A really good option if you're not a fish expert/don't want to baby a tank.
