Wrist rest

Wrist rest is a concept, will not be polycarbonate because it is too large to be PC and will definitely yellow overtime.
Most likely if this is going to come to reality the body might be anodized aluminum or wood (not decided yet)
and will have an colored anodized aluminum accent at the end of it.

Physical specs:

- Typing angle 5.5
- Mounting: Top mount + Burger mount using o-rings
- Front height: 20.6mm
- Seamless design
- Anodized aluminum body
- Internal brass weight sandblasted
- Anodized aluminum plate (Only aluminum material option for now, will try including PC and brass)

- VIA/QMK compatible
- ESD protection

- USB-C port
- Mirrored numpad
- ISO support
- Clicky rotary encoder

Layout of the PCB

USB-C port

Exploded render of knob, top frame, bottom frame, and case foam.

Flex cuts on plate which will create a more flexible typing experience.

Internal of mounting which is top mount + burger mount with o-rings
Plate is sandwiched between o-rings from bottom and top.

Knob will come in silver option too, or gold if you prefer it like in the renders.

Unfortunately, I tried and it is possible but the position of the keys would be similar to an ortholinear and would be awkward. This isn't the final design, I still am trying ways to add ISO support.

It might be added to the next revision the model!

What I like about the old layout is the extra key next to the "T" key, as for those who press "Y" with both left and right fingers might bind that. I think adding it back to the new layout could make it more easier to adjust.

Yes, yes , yes.  Love everything about this, a full size alice for work.  Are you going to do a southpaw as well or replace this design with it?  Please if possible run this version first.  If I can also suggest that you run the wrist rest for it at the same time as the correct wrist rest is needed for proper alice use.

Good luck with this.

Very unlikely. Most likely depends on demand which layout receives the most attention and that will be the final layout.

Interesting project. Do you care to provide more details about the mounting system and case screws? The renders do a fine job of explaining the exterior but there is nothing for the internals.

You are going "screw-less", but the only way I can see that being possible(based off the renders you have provided) is having 4 screws under the feet(which isn't enough for even a 60% gasket board).

I'm very confused about the move to a south-paw design. This is generally a polarising opinion. Is this something you actually wanted to do before posting the IC, and couldn't decide on? Or are you just accomodating to requests made by people in this thread? It's been live for a day and you're fundamentally changing the layout and will have to remodel everything. This is incredibly odd for a personal project but makes sense if you're just designing for what "people want"(which isn't the way to go about projects imo).

I personally deteste designer names or logos on the exterior of boards("designed by X") because I believe it only serves a purpose for the board designer and no one else. I think an internal engraving is much more fitting for this application. Understandable if you wouldn't want to make this change; I understand it's an opinion.

Thanks for you reply, I wanted to create a keyboard for myself and the community too. But I couldn't decide if whether people wanted southpaw or not. (I don't mind southpaw or not). So I created an IC Form for the community to decide whether they want southpaw or non.

I'm just showing the incomplete version of the non-southpaw version of the model. Screws will be from the top of the board, not under the feet.

The brass weight will also have some changes in the second model.
I also plan on removing that designed by yoboard and adding a aesthetic logo instead.

I know you can't see them but I will only complete this model (non-southpaw) if the community prefers this layout. For now, there is no point putting any more work into this model until the community votes on the layouts in the IC form.

Thank you! I'll update the renders when the IC form is complete.

I need to know if the community prefers a southpaw or non-southpaw layout. Then I will do a remodel of this keeb.

For now the renders just show a representation of the board. (non-southpaw)
