Captain BadAss' Keyboard Collection
« on: Sun, 01 June 2014, 21:28:08 »
Just a warning right now, this thread has *a lot* of pictures.

I have a lot of keyboards. Here’s pictures of them. I don’t have a family shot ‘cause I don't have room to lay them all out at once.

I also have an unfinished GH60 Rev B and a GHPad. I’ll post pictures of those when they’re built.

That's a Model F esko997, it's a 6019284 capacitive over buckling spring keyboard. It's also referred to as a Kishsaver.

Also thanks for the kind words.

Yeah, sorry Candyflip. You can't sit with them. You can sit with us Cherry guys though, and we're cooler than them.

Nice collection CPT. The legends on that SSK are really wacky though, so it probably isn't much use to you. Just send it to me and I'll dispose of it.

I have some Cherry boards so I'm inviting myself to the lunch table. Plus I wear pink on Wednesdays.

And aren't those legends weird? They're off an M that was designed for use at airports, sold on clickykeyboards.com Not as cool as the legends on the medical M caps that dorkvader has but I like them. Plus the caps are *heavily* used so the homerow feels smoother than the typical PBT caps which I like.

Sweet collection.  Makes me want to try more ALPS switches.

I really don't like that Ducky 1087XM for personal usage but I think I'm going to turn it into an Alps tester and tour it.

I have an Ikea shelf that they all live in or on when I'm not using them. It's nothing special, just a cube. And when I'm not using a keyboard, they're in a box or case. I need another shelf though. Thanks for the kind words everyone :).

I don't know, like the Leopold, Ducky, scissor switch, that Cherry MX 3.0, basically the mass produced boards still on the market that are not custom or vintage.  I figure with all those Korean customs and buckling spring keyboards, you would see no need to keep the ones I mentioned.

But I am just making assumptions based on what I would do.

That Kingsaver, though, what a beauty.

I like the Leopold, Pure, and Filco. I almost sold the Leo and Pure but there wasn't much interest and I wanted to keep them. The Ducky will be converted to an Alps tester for people who want to try it out.

Scissor switch and MX3.0 I recieved as a surprised from russm. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them after I review them. Perhaps an MX tester out of the 3.0 and the trash heap for that terrible scissor switch board.

In short, I like my keyboards. That's why I still have them. I don't need any of these but they make me happy right now. If I do get out of the keyboard game, the customs and IBM boards are going with me. Those are my ride or die boards.

Are the keycaps and case dyed?

The keycaps are a custom set from Unicomp that a previous member had made. I'm not sure if that grey/silver color is still being used. The case was powdercoated with a color referred to as "jdcarpurple" as jdcarpe had a poker case done in this color before.

Thanks for the kind words everyone :).
