Alice style keyboard with Arrows - IC (GOTHIC70)

I've been wanting an Alice style board for a while and couldn't find one with a layout I like, the Arisu board was close, so I've modified it to add some additional features and modified the case design for it.  Additions to the original Arisu PCB include adding USB-C, 3 indicator LEDs, an RGB strip header, and some extra keys (including an option for split or 2u backspace), as well as some general routing and component cleanup.

I figured since I'm going to be ordering a few, I'd see who else is interested in a board while I'm placing the orders.  PCB will come with SMD assembly done, just solder in switches and add stabilizers and keycaps.  This IC will be pretty fast, just want to get an idea of how many are interested, likely a week or two till it moves to GB.  Timeline would be shipping 2-3 months after GB close.  I've done a few of these and so far, they've gone pretty smoothly, so lets go!

 Final price will probably be $115 USD for a complete kit or $45 for just a PCB
US shipping will be approximately $15, Canada $25, other international $35 (it's about 2.5 lbs)  Approximately half those prices for just a PCB shipping.

I have the completed and working prototypes on hand and have confirmed that the board and firmware work fine. Photos below are hardwired due to the USB port being backordered, the final version will have a USBC port on the board.

Yeah, I can share the case files once the GB is closed, and I can ship to US proxies.  PCB only shipping would also be a fair bit cheaper than the kit since it's probably less than 8oz, should put international shipping at $13

I'd say that the 6 is one of those keys, just like the B, that some people press with left hand and some with right hand. I usually see both of them on left sides of the keyboard though.

Yeah, if there's interest, I could do a full POM case for a $25 upgrade, POM plate would likely be a $5 upgrade, there may be small surface defects/scratches in the POM as it does not come with protective film like acrylic does.

POM doesn't come with protective film like acrylic and some other plastics do, the white requires either addition of film, or cleaning after cutting to remove the staining from the cut process, and that adds considerable processing time, so I generally try to avoid white.

You can always stain the wood to your preference.

Yes, QMK compatible, and I already have QMK firmware written for it, LEDs are configurable in QMK as well

It's what will come with it, but it's standard M3 so feel free to swap it out with whatever you prefer.

There will be 2x3mm bezel layers in the design with a hex standoff just below, probably 8-10mm should work fine.

Soon!  I'm finalizing some stuff with my PCB manufacturer with the silkscreen, hopefully some interesting stuff coming in the next couple days.  Plan is to go live with the GB next week.

A few answers to questions from the form:

>Is there anyway of having a stepped caps locks?
Yes, stepped caps has been added to the PCB options

>Will the final kit be hotswappable?
No, it will remain solder only, though you CAN use millmax 7305 sockets with it to make it hotswap yourself

>Would there be an option for a wrist rest?
Sorry, you're on your own here, I think that the angle is similar enough to the Alice to use a rest intended for it.

Possibly, I have contacts with a factory that could do the work, but I'd probably need some assistance with the CAD design, we'll see

>could you add led support?
It has underglow support via an RGB strip header, but I do not plan on adding per-key at this time

PM me and we can talk about assembly, really, the only thing you have to do is solder the switches in, the PCB is assembled.

I'll try to get a case cut in the clear and frosted material soon for comparison!

Plate options: default is matching acrylic (included with the case), there will also be a black POM option, as well as the option for additional plates for $20(acrylic) or $25(POM).
