Hello! New to Mech Keyboards, contemplating KBT Pure Pro!
« on: Wed, 11 September 2013, 20:59:27 »
Hello everyone! Really cool community you have here.

I'm a CompSci student and recently became aware of how lame rubber domed keyboards are. I've been shopping around online for a good first mechanical keyboard for about a month now. My top two picks are the White Filco MJ2 Tenkeyless and the White KBT Pure Pro. I've never used a mechanical keyboard, but I'm pretty sold on Cherry MX Brown switches (maybe one day I will upgrade to a Topre board). I can't find the Filco for sale, and I really like the minimal style of the KBT. It also comes at a decent $130 shipped via ebay. I'm reeeally close to buying it!

Anyway, glad to be here! I plan on lurking around for a while until I get a board and start customizing :)

Edit: Just bought the Pure Pro.

Welcome to Geekhack!

60% layouts are great. You will love the Pure Pro.

Amazon gets shipments of Filco boards in every once in a while. If you decide that you still want the MJ2 then I'd keep an eye out on there.
