Height vs computer desk

As a shorter than average person I have to put a pillow under my feet in order to better straighten my legs so they don't weigh over my chair, because I have to raise my chair to a certain level for my hands to be level with my keyboard and mouse.

I am wondering what ideas you have come up with whether you are shorter or taller than average and have problems with standard computer desks. I have considered building my own desk to my size specifications. What are some things you have done?

I too am shorter than the average person. Once my workplace had an 'Ergonomic Specialist' come in to evaluate everyone's cubicle. They told me I should lower my desk in order to avoid discomfort. I liked my desk just fine though, and didn't put much stock into their suggestion (I was young  ). However, at home, where I built my own desk, I do have it lower than average. At work (different job now), I use an old desktop tower to put my feet up on.

I know the Ikea desks are a bit smaller, specifically the Galant. I have one, and compared to my old Ikea desk, this one is short, and I have to have my chair on the shortest setting.

I have an adjustable keyboard tray. They can usually go several inches below/above your desk level. If you don't want to get a new desk, you can usually add one on.

When I got a new desk a few years ago, the Ikea Galant desk was one of the more inexpensive adjustable height desks. It looks like they have a new line called Bekant that has similar features and price.

Motorized adjustable-height desk, Capisco chair, displays on articulating arms. Works standing, sitting at tall stool height, and sitting at low chair height, for both me (6'2") and my wife (5'3").

If you can afford it, I highly recommend getting an adjustable-height desk, it’s great.

I'm taller than average, but I get a stiff neck if I look up for too long, so I tend to have the monitor as low as it will go and the chair as high as it will go.

Most chairs my feet can rest comfortably flat on the floor, even at the highest elevation.
