100% Full size DIY Kits? (Build for my dad)
« on: Tue, 29 June 2021, 22:00:09 »
My dad works as a TV editor and primarily uses AVID Media Composer, and for at least 20 years he has been using old membrane boards that have custom made keycaps with AVID shortcuts on them. I want to make him a new keyboard that he will enjoy using far more than a twenty year old mecha-membrane board. I have already found some aftermarket MX mount AVID keycaps, but for the life of me I cannot find a 100% DIY kit! I can't get him the GMMK Barebones because that is far to gamer-ey for my dad, and I would also rule out any other exposed switch boards. So far, my only success has been in finding the Melody96, however it looks a little compact not as traditional as my dad would like (still one of my only options...)

I am well aware that my problem is kind of a pain in the ass, because the way it's looking, what I want doesn't actually exist(?)

If anyone knows where on earth I can find a 104 key or even 108 key DIY kit that is not the GMMK barebones, I will be thoroughly amazed.
I bought a Razer keyboard and I regret my purchase with every word I type. That’s twenty three regrets just for this signature.

Research 1800 boards(compact, full size), it should open up more choices.
