Hello Geekhack, I am running a group buy of Hua-Jie's AK-CN2 Alps clones, also known as the "alps.tw Type T1 clone". These are 60gf clicky switches similar to Xiang Ming's Ducky switches.

If you need more info on the switches then here:

Deskthority wiki: https://deskthority.net/wiki/Hua-Jie_AK_series
Chyrosan22's review of a Focus with them:
SiiG MiniTouch with them typing demo by Jeremy Quiros:
Sound test vs. Matias Click (bad quality):

The MOQ I have to meet is at least 2,000 switches

Prices as follows:

  • Kit of 50 switches- $27.00 USD
  • Kit of 100 switches- $47.00 USD
  • Individual switches- $0.50 USD
  • Shipping/handling inside USA- $10.00 USD (Small flat rate box)
  • Shipping/handling outside USA- $40.00 USD (Small flat rate box)

I accept payments via. PayPal.

Hua-Jie has a lead time of 6-9 weeks.

This is my first group buy, so I may make a few mistakes, but I promise to do my best and resolve any problems that may arise.

Begins today (01/02/19)
Ends in 2 weeks (01/16/19)

TO ORDER, JUST PM ME

How come no one is interested in Alps switches anymore?  These are far more interesting and tactile than any of the meme MX clones.

IMHO, the price is a bit high for what is likely an inferior product to White Alps, which I think typically go for $0.25 each on r/mm.

Only a few people are on the alps train for custom keyboards generally: fewer keyboards, fewer cap sets.

I am somewhat interested since I love clicky switches, but the only keyboard I could put these in is my KBP V80, which means I'd have to desolder the whole thing.

I saw your comment on my old Matias thread; do you know if these are significantly different in sound/feel? They sound better in the videos, but not really enough to judge if it's the microphone making the difference. Matias had potential, but overall have been disappointing to me. Not sure if I want to throw more money at trying to redeem this keyboard.
Maybe they're waiting for gasmasks and latex to get sexy again.

The world has become a weird place.

These are brand new, in-production switches, also the feel is more like Amber Alps than Whites (much sharper tactility and louder).

There of plenty of Alps chassis still around with trashed switches that would make good candidates for switch replacement. Plus I'm offering a free 3D printed plate for those who want new 60%s.

Thanks for your interest! Yes, they are pretty different than Matias. They have a much sharper tactility but don't have the second bump caused by the contact leaf. The click is a bit higher pitched and louder. They seem to fit the description of Amber Alps more than Whites (although I haven't tried Ambers personally)

I can't say if you would like them or not, since keyfeel is pretty subjective, but personally I would take these over Matias and definitely over Cherry blues. In fact, I'm going to build a 60% with these as my portable keyboard.
