TGR x Singa
Interesting. Still can't get my head around how the gasket would affect things when it's tray mount but interesting nonetheless. Gonna need more explanation on how this changes things.

I'm in the same boat there, I can see it having an acoustic effect perhaps but given there doesn't appear to bee any pressure on the gasket I'm not understanding how it could possibly effect the feel, would love clarification!
Will there be a HHKB version?
I'm in.. any limit on numbers? Is it compatible with other 60% pcb?I am afraid not. The Unikorn case has tighter tolerance compared to the standard ones, it also requires some special cutouts to accommodate the gasket.

The traditional tray has the plate/pcb assembly screwed directly to the case. The pcb is in contact with the housing unlike the top or sandwich mounted boards.
In the Unikorn, the pcb is not longer rests on or comes in contact with the case. The plate/pcb assembly is being supported by the rubber gasket similar to how a sandwich board structure works.
Sam will post a typing video later too.

Ah shucks. Any estimate for when the GB will start tho? Noticed it's not written anywhere in the post. Will there be a HHKB version?
Unfortunately no, the gasket wouldnt work.
Is the idea that the tray-mount screws pull the plate down into the gasket?
Some photos I've seen have traditional tray mount standoffs (one difrectly in the middle of the plate), but the PVD sample pictured here only has them along the edges -- which will the final have?
EDIT: TBH I'm also disappointed by the inclusions of switch top openings and ISO support, both have caused annoying switch alignment issues for me in the past. Previous TGR boards didn't do switch top openings, why now?

weird but the plate in the photo is for a 65% board?

Depends which photo, if it's the one from this thread, I think it's a 60%. There's stabs for backspace and ANSI enter
Curious to see if this is limited buy or not.

Hi,
the plate is just a random plate I had sandblasted and pvd-ed. I am actually trying to show what sandblasted PVD brass looks like.
Sorry if that confused everyone.

Ah didn't see the extra column, you're right. The PCB is not in contact with any of the standoffs. There's enough room for flex.
Would love to hear reasoning why a center standoff would feel any better than a standard tray mount. Seems very limiting to flex.

why are people getting hype for a $300 tray mount case that has iso and switch top????

Welp time for a new pollOof lol. The result was tampered without a doubt. There is no way 850 people would vote for pink within a very small window of time. Someone must be a sucker for pink...

Not really 'interesting' — mini has been the standard for years and while USB-C is pretty cool, most people (myself included) aren't so concerned with the difference.- PCB – Purple Pcb, gold trace, USB mini

Damn you, pink people. Be sensible and pick gray.
I would relly like to see a fixed ANSI plate instead of a universal one.
Also, woould it be possible to get the weight without the engraving?

if you double vote, it will just change your previous vote to your latest answer~~
Love it! Count me in! I hope availability won't be a problem
GB is expected to be live, 1st week of december, either mid week - end of the week. How long does the sale last? Is it going to be limited?
Announcements will be made through here, discord and r/mm.
The gb will be done on singakbd.com
As for the colour poll, Pink and Grey will be included in the final 6 colours. Poll will close by Monday 3rd December.

Im having colour chips made, which will be ready next week, I'll have them posted on here as well as on the singakbd site.
___________________________________________________________________________
Changes we're making for the GB:
1. Polycarbonate plate might not be offered, due to Sam's concern that it will not work with the gasket.
2. Shipping prices will be different than what I offered in SINGA which was 45 USD for a 3.5kg volumetric box. The packaging box is being done by the manu. Samples have been made, I'll just need to confirm the volumetric weight of the new boxes to decide how to charge. It should be cheaper than previous SINGA 75 boxes.
Will the quantity be limited?

didn't he say at least 100?
Someone knows what shipping company Singakbd use?
Thanks for offering up an alu plate, I've gone off the ubiquitous brass plates a bit. Will the alu plates have the same colour choices as the case? Could we mix n match? (I missed it if this was already asked/answered elsewhere).
Instead of a bootmapper client pcb (atmega32a), would it be possible to get a atmega32u4 pcb for native QMK?Singa's PCB has been ported to QMK. It should work the same with Unikorn's since they both use the same pins.
I haven't seen it attempted with 32a chips yet, but this way we could easily get Rama's new VIA Configurator to work with it too. In my opinion VIA works just like Bootmapper client but has QMK on the back end.

Hello,
I'm getting some swatches made, looks like the final 2 colours would be pink and grey.
Once the swatches are done, we can start the GB.
Probably the end of this week or next.

I don't want to try that personally, because then I would have to get a glass top form my work set up if it happens to make a big difference in sound and feel.
Sorry for the question, but I'm still a little confused on how the mount works for this keyboard.
It says that the plate is universal, does that mean it supports ANSI/etc? And is the plate top or bottom mounted? I see that it is tray mounted, but I'm still a little confused on where the plate itself is screwed in.
The reason I'm bringing this up is because originally I thought universal meant that any 60% plate could be used (where they have screw into standoffs on the case itself, not sandwiched between the top and bottom case), which is something I wouldn't prefer. But after re-reading this, I believe it isn't? Can someone confirm my beliefs in that this keyboard does not use the typical 60% plate (as in the poker or anne) and is sandwiched in between top and bottom case? Thank you!
Ahh interesting, thank you! Hm, I guess I would have to look at the plate itself/the way it's held together then though other pictures.

Will an acrylic plate be an option?
- Universal Plate in Brass or Aluminium (ANSI/ISO) Plate will not allow for switch top mods (Removing polycarbonate until we can do further testing that it works)

It will look like such:
https://imgur.com/a/PEEoY2D (https://imgur.com/a/PEEoY2D)
1. Plate will rest on the "o-ring" which will rest on the protruding part of the case
2. PCB is screwed to the case bottom via normal stand-offs like you find in tray mounted boards
3. Screwed PCB will pull the plate down (after soldering ofc) which will depress the "o-ring" slightly
4. The "o-ring" is placed around the edges of the board (no screw holes around the edge of the board, hence "tray")
5. ??
6. Profit
Are there any photos of the USB cut out?

Unicorns and ponies are not the same. Please don't assume all bronies like anything that has horse-like features. >:D
That being said, would it be possible to get a unicorn engraving without the horn and
could you change the lettering on the back to say "FLUTTERSHY" instead of "UNIKORN"?
Thanks <3

Thanks! I don't have any experience yet with Aramex. Is it like DHL Express or will the local post be responsible for delivery once it arrives in the country of destination?
Another thing, will this be fcfs? If so, how many units are planned?
Does this board have the same issues other tray mounts have? i.e. stiffer near the mounts
