Anyone's pcb comes with rgb presoldered?

Neither of the pcb's I received have the RGB LEDs soldered on the underside.  It makes sense that they didn't solder any on these boards, since we wouldn't see the light through the case anyway.

Yeah makes sense. Just that there were solder already applied on it so just thought to ask. Thanks!

It also needs an additional 1.25u key on the bottom row unless you decide to get creative.

Those are sip sockets for the lock LEDs.
Solder them into the row of holes, trim the lock LED pins to size and stick them in the sockets.

My keyboard isn't being detected by windows - "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)"
Thought it was the in-switch LED's, but after removing them the issue remains.
I've also tried plugging it in while holding U and ESC without any success.
I think the PCB is fried

Well, I must admit to being a bit relieved I'm not alone in this.
I usually assemble a kbd every other week, so I doubt I did something daft.

I think it was probably damaged upon shipping. I spoke with Leeku and he sent me to Kin. Kin is having me ship the pcb back to him. I'm going to try to maybe make a deal with Kin where I don't have to ship the broken PCB back. Shipping back to Korea will cost more than the cost of replacing the PCB, I think. I'll keep you updated.

Sure thing, though I am still struggling about which switch I should use for this board. I used to put ergo clear or gateron blue/green on my board for the sweet bump or the clicky sound. So I am kinda thinking about ergo clear again or trying out the Aristotle switch on this board. But recently I want something that got a sweet bump but with a lighter spring so my girlfriend don't need to get her finger tired when she is typing on my board. It seems cherry brown don't have such a sweet bump, and the clear switch need a heavier spring to be functional (at least 62g). Is there any switch out there can do so? And I had seen many people using linear switch on their custom board, but personally I having tried linear switch for a long time. So wondering how it feels like when typing on for example a cherry black switch or gateron yellow switch. Can you know when the actuation happened or you need to continuously bottom out to prevent missing of characters?

BTW, I haven't check whether my PCB is functional, so just wondering can the connection issue be detected before soldering switch on it ?

You can plug the keyboard in, and use tweezers to 'short' the pins of the switch.

Though I'm not ready to put this board together, I was looking at the PCB this evening. Most of the solder points are self explanatory (switch or LED), but I had a few questions:

What are these?



Why do these solder points have three in a row? I presume it gives the flexibility for switches on the bottom row.

The end user shouldn't need to mess with that, since the bootloader should already be  flashed and ready for whatever layout you throw on it via the JigOn software.

The second pic and the multiple solder points is for the various layouts that are supported on the bottom row.

Got the board setup finally! Two things I'm noticing that are probably firmware issues: the keys I have mapped to winkey/cmd (on mac) seem to lose their mapping after a while....? Also, is there a way in the JigOn software to map a key to laptop fn? That is, the key on many laptops that let you use the f-row as a regular f-row but fn+F1 might dim screen.

Link to the TMK code that supports this board? Tips about flashing it? Would like to get this to support the laptop fn key if possible. Maybe TMK can help there.

You can find sources here: https://github.com/xauser/tmk_keyboard/tree/xauser/keyboard/l3
Firmware supports lzcp, tx1800 and lzergo. This tmk port supports only the basic PCB features (matrix and some led effects). Official firmware from leeku is way more feature complete.

Some of these fn keys do not send keycodes to the host so tmk won't be of any help.

I changed the bootloader as well. Readme has some info how to do that. Maybe you can keep original bootloader. Let me know if you have further questions.

If you're en-us choose keyboard->connect in the JigOn UI and then when you press a key on the keyboard it will highlight in the UI similar to how BootMapper Client does it.
