What made you go with ABS over PBT? Do people prefer ABS? I would have thought the durability of PBT would outweigh the price increase and people expect to pay more. Like the only downside that I see with PBT is it tends to be slightly limited in terms of colours. I'm kind of new to the mech keeb game, but I would like to design a set of keys one day.

Why dont you wear denim underwear? Its more durable than cotton. ;) I've never tasted PBT which felt good to me. To rough to dry for my taste. Pbt is defenitely not better than ABS. Each material has its downsides.

The ABS/PBT debate is so boring, every single time. For the most part, it isn't even a choice. Sculpted SA doesn't come in PBT, there is no decision to be made in the first place.

Hi T0mb3ry,

I just joined this site and one of the reasons I did was this group buy.

Count me in.... count me in several times over.

SAME HERE!!!
I plan on buying a few sets.
Also, I saw your "OverWatch" concept and WANT IT SO BAD.
Do you think that could actually come to fruition?

Keyboards on my desk with HL and OW keys would be endgame.......if there is such a thing with this disease....

Please take my money! :-X

I don't believe that is entirely true. I thought a while back vortex showed PBT SA sculpted blanks. It's just something that SP/Maxkeys has not released as available options or the lack of people asking if the option is available/when it could be.

Schedule changes: Carbon will drop in Juny. This should be enough of info, if you want to prepare for this drop. Dont forget also about GMK Nautilus from my buddy Zambumon. Thus Juny is going to be drop heavy.

Sorry, do you mean June or July?  Juny is one letter away from either :P

Need to make sure I have good info on this, so my wallet is fully prepared!

EDIT: or, does "Juny" mean "June OR July" and the exact month isn't set yet...

I thought it was intentional since he wrote it twice. I think he means to say that it could drop in June or July. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Since we got less time as supposed, it would be good if someone could find some errors and call these. I would be thankfull.

As i see in this groupbuy from zfrontier there is a an option for a spacebar 6u sa from signature plastics, on 1800 kit
https://en.zfrontier.com/collections/keysets/products/sp-corner-creatures
is it available now? i thought that signature plastics didnt do it, may be possible on this keyset? i would buy this keyset anyway

I wrote them an email asking if they were truly funding the creation of a 6u spacebar or if it was a mistake (other sets like Danger Zone have mistakenly had a 6u bar listed), but never heard back.  Really hoping it's true, but the Carbon drop is happening too soon for a 6u bar to be part of it anyway.

Hi T0mb3ry, everyone,

I am in the process of buying a black Ergodox and I fell in love with the Carbon design while looking at some Ergodox setup on the net.
Now I can't even think about this keyboard without your keyset on. It is such a good fit. Your design is so sleek.

I did not even know keycaps mods where a thing a few days ago, but I'm all in now ;-)

To the point, I use an exotic layout (French dvorack : bépo) and while I don't expect you to accommodate for it*, I'd like to know it would be possible to have a set of blanck  keycaps for the "alpha" keys in the "bone" color. Sorry if this is a noob question, I did read the entire thread first to see if it had been discussed before, but it was not.

*Homing keys are E and T; letters position is very different of azerty/ qwerty.
http://bepo.fr/wiki/Fichier:Carte-bepo-simple.png

Hope you'll have the time and patience to answer this question,

Best,

G

Hi and welcome :)

I'll look into offering some kind of blank keys, though only alphas (1u sized but fully profiled keys). By the way you may take a look at rolling bones which has numpad alphas and these might be used also as "doted" blanks but that idea might cost a little bit.

Hi T0mb3ry,

Do you think the "blank" alphas will happen ?

Best,

G

Does it mean you are freezing any changes except for mistake corrections? I am interested in the fate of complete ISO-friendly set of novelties and whether the lambda will ultimately happen this time or not. Thanks!

Looking at my BL82 again you have everything just right for cop car coverage (excluding space bar) as far as I can tell :thumb:

I'd be very interested in a 6u space bar kit so I don't have to try and get a closest possible match from another vendor or wait to buy a separate space bar later if Signature Plastics do have a mold. Could you possibly ask SP when you place the order if this is possible? BL82s might not be so common, but I'm pretty sure there's a lot of 1800s out there.

I'd also be very interested in a lambda kit (even if it has to be run separately after the main groupbuy) - Have you been in contact with Valve yet?

Yes but if you buy all the kits you can basically cover two full TKL's , a 60, a 40, a 30, and a bunch of macro pads! (overgeneralizing here but you definitely get at least coverage for two TKL's)

Update.

Novelties
- Added Carbon signature keys (legacy for those who missed novelties round 1, though also interesting for others in round 2).

Exotic kit

- Added missing row 4 1.25u DEL key for race 2

Since we got no more time i call the kits as FINALIZED. That means i do not take any new suggestion but i can consider some changes if there are some errors. So check the keys you are interested in, and if you miss something or encountered an error - reply here.

All in all the amount of kits is crazy and there is something for everybody.

The only "error" I see is there is no honeycomb pattern key R4 2.75/1.25. This is the only way for ISO TKL to have this novelty at all AFAIK and it would also be a usable option for the majority of other buyers (TKL + full-size). I would buy a kit I don't need just to get this button.

So much for the blank alphas  :'(. I guess that's the game. You can't please everyone.

Btw, I don't see the R4 1.25u DEL key in the image you just posted.

Do you have an idea where I could find a blank SA kit somewhere that would match the beige colour?

All in all the amount of kits is crazy and there is something for everybody.

So much for the blank alphas  :'(. I guess that's the game. You can't please everyone.

Btw, I don't see the R4 1.25u DEL key in the image you just posted.

Do you have an idea where I could find a blank SA kit somewhere that would match the beige colour?

Regards,

G

Sorry forgot to add blanks. Will add in next update i promise. There will be only beige blanks - rows 1234 and 5 columns (total 20 keys) + 1 deep dish homing key ;)
