NOT ALPS - in error
« on: Mon, 10 April 2017, 07:02:28 »
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Canon-AP-350-Electric-Typewriter-Turns-On-mid-Century-Office-/222467777251

I'm in the wrong country for this - but all the keycaps on this typewriter are Alps keycaps and spherical... and there will be alps switches under each key (including some green SKCL alps on the flat topped keys on the left and right of the main keyboard, and cream SKCM alps on the main board).

edit: as I have been notified the caps lock window is not centred - therefore it's not an ALPS board.

I'm not surprised, I've held electronic typewriters before. Some I've seen weighed more even than my mechanical Remington typewriter!

Yeah, these are pretty damn heavy (I would probably try and contact the seller to arrange pickup or something).

I took apart one of these which was non-functional and salvaged all the alps switches from it as well as those sweet keycaps.

Still, this shows you that keys don't have to be ALPS to be cool... They could be anything.
