I understand. Maxkey's system is great for mass production, not so great for flexibility especially with colors and novelty sizes.

I see... I've received several comments about just keeping most of the novelties the same while adding new ones, both from here and the China forum. It's why I initially replaced some keys and brought them back.

Regarding COLEMAK+DVORAK, are these the right keys? This image is from R1:



If we add this I'll include the deep dish Harley H to this kit alone.

I think if thats the case its a bad idea.. could drive customers away not only from this project but future projects. I mean people already get upset having to buy kits they don't need for a single key. To be forced to buy a kit to help it meet MOQ for a single novelty would most likely go over poorly.

No, Colevrak has HUNT as homing keys, so he will add Harley novelty H as a dished key to this kit only as noone else would use it. You'll have it non-dished in the novelties kit don't worry.

I agree solely because of the novelties kit. There are many novelties that can be used on a 40% bottom row. Otherwise I would agree with keebwarrior, Plancks/40% keebs barely ever have an angled case, making a R3 bottom row much more comfortable. Only the bigger layouts have the usual 5-8deg angles that is complimented by an angled R4 bottom row.

The problem is that the profile is different. This kit needs R4 J, while the novelties have just R3 and deep dish R3.

i know german mechanical keyboards acquired the original cherry tooling...but sp's dcs is spec'd out as cherry profile on pmk...their dcs collection is unimpressive to say the least and i haven't tried or seen a set...let alone a review on the profile...i will look but is there something about the sp cherry pro you don't like or just prefer to deal with gmk for cherry

i don't remember where i heard it...maybe just in my head and i like to believe the wild things do exist...the thing about the mass drop was they show the requested interest in the set at some 3000...they will practically be giving the sets away based on the business model if all those people join...i haven't heard overwhelmingly positive things about the kono distributions but really like the input guys and think this drop will set a standard for them if they knock it out of the park

DCS is modeled after the Cherry profile but it is actually different; most notably it has more aggressively sloped lower rows, is much thinner and has deeper cylindrical scooping.  It's really the thin part that makes nobody want to use it since it is really, really thin.
