What weight, and is it uniform? I need to try an RF TKL board, preferably 55g.

It's 55g aka God switch. And I'm unsure if it's uniform, haha.

Fair enough. I wish I'll try 55g Topre once but I'm already happy with my 45g.

Got this in the mail today (unfortunately my Nosferatu Zombro was delayed by weather :():

Feels and sounds great (much deeper thock), but **** me do I miss dedicated arrow keys. Does anyone know how to get autohotkey (or any other similar program) to recognize the Fn key? Would like to assign Fn+WASD to function as arrow keys but keyboard hook doesn't recognize Fn as being pressed. So far I've swapped Alt/Metas and remapped new RMeta to Ctrl (I use mods+F keys regularly so wanted to be able to use right hand for Mod+Fn and then left hand for the F key, instead of stretch armstronging it), also tried reassigning \ and ` to backspace but that was kind of irritating so I'll try the hhkb positioning for now.

Will try out out various configurations (45g/55g silenced/not) this weekend to see which produces the best typing experience.

Downside though is I now have four Topre boards (45g TKL, 55g TKL, 45g modded 106to104, 45g HHKB), a fifth (variable 104) being used for parts, and a 45g Royal Kludge RGB TKL knockoff on the way so kind of need to start thinning out the heard soon. I've gone from having a single 87U with white/gray keys for 6 months to acquiring something like $1200 worth of Topre **** since December, pretty ridiculous but good to get the tester phase out of the way while I have the discretionary income I suppose. Expect to see the sell portion of my classifieds post be more active in the coming weeks.

Is it weird that a flipped spacebar feels wrong on my HHKB, but so right on all my MX boards?

I have to agree with you, I think its the profile of the case lip and the spacebar. You cant really hit it on the HHKB when it is flipped.

looks like the flag of the kingdom to me~

did some swapping around this morning, that plain black hhkb is now type-s'd and color-fied. keyboard feels crazy smooth now, though i still have to try it with 55g domes.

originally assigned rmeta to function as ctrl, but now it also acts as a function key so that i can do rmeta + wasd = arrows (also set up middle mouse click + wasd = arrows). also assigned ~ to the forward slash key placement and the original ~ placement to function as delete, so the layout is starting to feel much better now. still having some struggles with the control key (keep pressing shift) though but i imagine i'll get used to that. all-in-all, i'm digging it.

I remember seeing this one a while back and I was ... OH MY! This board is just damn beautiful. Didn't he post it in the thread after someone tried to mod an HHKB with Novatouch sliders when it was still in preview?

IIRC, they boil the dye and then add the cap for it to sink into the caps. In that way it is uniform and doesn't wear off. I'll consider doing it maybe (once I have an HHKB). ^^

NICE!! You're always doing some awesome stuff on Topre boards. I look forward to seeing what you do, and learning!

DOO EET, SENPAI!

Pretty glad about where this is going.

Also, a few members were able to show us that the mods can be dyed a beautiful purple ~

Kudos to the people who were brave enough to experiment ~

Damn those look awesome, fair play! I've only ever seen Dye come out pretty washed out or having some nasty pattern on the keys or something, but those look pretty ballin'

Rit is a commonly used brand of dye to color plastics. They changed their recipe a few years ago resulting in this splotchiness. In addition to that, not all colors work as well as others. Btw - those keys are currently holding up quite well - here's a quick shot at work, sorry the board is well used and dirty

BroCaps informed me that the blue keycap is not in production yet, a cool extra-textured cap he's been letting me put through the ringer to test wear patterns hehe

I used purple iDye Poly on my grey hhkb modifiers and it turned out like this: (They are all the same shade of purple, the lighting makes them look different)

Yeah thanks that's the name I was referring to. Have you only try the purple dye? I wonder if all their colors work as well as the purple did for you.

Ok, so I need to buy some dye.

Gorgeous board vesper!
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

I have only tried the purple dye, but I have some blue and red packets of it at home. I just need some more modifiers to dye! Don't really want red or blue alphas with purple modifiers :P
