Looking forward to try GMK on it too! Does cherry profile go fine on the Novatouch or does it need the oring they provided?

I didn't have any issues using it normally, but then again I've never felt the need for orings for anything so I might be the wrong person to ask about it.  :3

IIRC the o-rings provided with the Novatouch are not used like all the other o-rings we often see. I think their function is to raise the key cap.

It was the Leopold PBT set from widebasket. I don't remember if they are OEM or cherry profile.

I have a novatouch with GMK and they do indeed hit the slider housing (most notably on the homerow and modifiers). O-rings solves the problem. :)

Here you go.

https://youtu.be/xVUldarYmF0

There is an o-ring installed on the control key.

The board is silenced using the ironed landing pads mod. It is possible that the small reduction in travel distance is to blame.

I'd like to see how high the GMK caps sit on the stems with or without the o-rings, sound of the thock would be cool too.

I was contemplating getting a novatouch but I might just wait for those JT/CtrlAlt sliders and put them on my RF.

thanks blackhawk, when you say that the gmk caps hit the slider housing what is it about the gmk caps that would be different than any regular abs cap?

Thickness maybe.

Epzy I think installed novatouch sliders on his HHKB and has dolch on his, and he never said anything about o-rings..

I guess I'll see how it turns out once I get my  JT sliders.

Are there pictures of the JT sliders anywhere? Was the only way to get them to get a set of JT caps from Bunny's GB?

I think it is mainly due to the low profile. As far as i can tell it is the protruding lines (not sure what they are called) on the underside of the cap that is hitting the top part of the housing.

I tried illustrating it with some pictures :p

PS Just LOOOVVVVEEEE the green goblin one ;)

Every artist needs a canvas - and you have two canvassess (canvii? canvessi?) :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
