I like the Dolch vibe this brings. Dolch + CMY is always a favorite around here...

It looks good! Though the mods in the different profile would bother me a bit.

Haha yeah it's actually not that bad since the bottom row is pretty much the same (didn't need to swap hi-pro switches). I tried it with the two Hi-Pro shifts as well. I really couldn't decide!

I've lived with my black 55g HHKB now for a while now.  But every time that I came into geekhack I always saw so many purdy white ones.  I just had to get one.

The wierd thing is now that I have both white and black HHKB boards in front of me I don't know if im going crazy from lack of sleep but the black board seems to exhibit more thock.  Both boards right now are 45g just so I can test if there are really any differences.  The black board seems to be louder in a good way.  The white board is still alive and fun, just more subtle.

I think im going nuts.

how long have you had both boards? perhaps the domes have worn out a bit

you should close your eyes and have someone place one of the two boards under your hand, then press some keys on it and try and guess the board

Ive had the black one for maybe 9-10 months I believe.  The white one is 1 day old.

You are probably right about the rubber domes hardening or something.

The blue definitely looks good on the RF, probably because of its light modifiers.

Okay, so I'm totally ignorant to what's available in Topre, but what is this? O_O An aluminum-cased Realforce?

Edit: DIGILOG, I SEE! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Full-Aluminum-Keyboard-Housing-with-USB-2-0-HUB-for-Topre-Real-force-87U-Silver-/161162921107?pt=PCA_Mice_Trackballs&hash=item25860f0493&afsrc=1&rmvSB=true

Very nice, Bromono! I'm not usually an artisan guy, but I have to admit, you've done your board up very tastefully and the colors are very coordinated!

Lol, it's such a perfect theme too. Got the lycans and the reaper, and the other keys topped with red look pretty bloody to boot. That combined with a board that's heavy enough to be used as a murder weapon, and you've got a great horror-themed keyboard, haha.

I know this feel exactly. The 660C is definitely the better feeling purely based on switch (at least that's how I felt about the lighter OG first gen 660C I had). Only reason I ended up sticking with the HHKB was because of the looks and layout.

I don't believe you have this one in your catalog Vesper. I'll take a decent photo of it when I have some good natural lighting. It's a lighter blue than Interstellar Blue.

From the perspective of this thread, though, it may be a bit repetitive to see pictures featuring the same caps, one time, and another one, again, again.

Caps are all personal preference anyways. I find SA to be my favorite, followed by POM Cherry. The Topre PBT are nice, but I don't like the homing bars.

It's also a bit spendy right now scavenging the sliders from a Novatouch. When the JTK sliders go on sale, I'm sure we'll see a few more.

I agree with this. I think Topre sets look amazing, and mixed with novelties they are unique and awesome.

I also don't see a problem when I see people posting the same Cherry keycaps/sets.

Everyone's photos are unique because of their boards, lighting, room setting, desktop, etc.

I don't know, the thread is about posting your topre boards, so thats what we do. Besides, I feel like my boards are fairly unique, I haven't seen anyone with the same caps as I do. Just check vesper's post above  ;)

With the availability of Topre to Cherry adapters, I wonder why do not see more Topres dressed up in Cherry caps.

you mean, ruin topre. and make it into unicorn vomit boards.

lets leave that to the cherry users and their ugly boards.
No, he’s not around. How that sound to ya? Jot it down.

Happy Holidays guys :)

Okay, so I'm totally ignorant to what's available in Topre, but what is this? O_O An aluminum-cased Realforce?

Yeah, it's a Digilog case.

And Bromono, that is one awesome setup! Loving the Bloodpact and Lycans combo.

Thank you!

My puppy's protect my board >=]

Lol, it's such a perfect theme too. Got the lycans and the reaper, and the other keys topped with red look pretty bloody to boot. That combined with a board that's heavy enough to be used as a murder weapon, and you've got a great horror-themed keyboard, haha.

I even re-did the feet in red o.o

And red cable too :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

i agree. i think something that makes topre boards so unique is how beautiful and simple they look with no modifications at all.

here's my beautiful new hhkb... it took me about 2 hours to get used to the layout but DAMN that backspace feels so natural on my pinky

p.s. thanks to whoever suggested in this thread to pull the stabilizers up then put the space bar on... it got rid of that annoying clack sound that came with the board :)

oops my spacebar is broken

Also lubing the **** out of the stabilizer switches makes it quieter.
