Keyboards / Re: Geekhack Cousin: Deskthority Registration?

Anyone know a Board Administrator at Deskthority?  Registered and never received an email activation but can't find an email address or link to contact a Board Administrator.

It's frustrating that the issue persists after a decade. While connecting with the DT Discord offers a temporary solution, resolving the email problem to access member-to-member sales would significantly enhance user experience and satisfaction.

Keyboards / Re: I hope to get your suggestions on the design of Alice's keyboard

I guess it is different for the sake of being different.

I personally would hate running that layout with lack of Fn keys accessible by either hand. The PG UP/PG DOWN/HOME/END on the left is just bad.

I can't speak to this keyboard or maker specifically, but this layout is not at all exotic for Alice keyboards.  Almost all that I've seen are FRL, and many include a "macro row" on the left.  Kitting it out with nav keys is a pretty simple solution, but as long as it's remappable you can put whatever you want there.

Off Topic / What mouse are you obsessed with currently?

I bought the OP18K months ago and haven’t put it down since! I do have slam-clicking here and there, but out of the 10+ mice I’ve tested it is, by far, my favorite. The “itch” to try something new completely left me after using it.

What about you?

Pretty much every key cap set with an ISO version/addon got the wrong colour of the pipe/backslash key next to the left shift as that key ends up with the alpha colour and not the colour of the shift key. As a result you get a very strange layout with dual colour setups and not the nice symmetrical look of an ANSI keyboard.

The only exception to this rule are the Keychron key caps.

Howdy from Aus all,

Looking forward to getting deeper into the rabbit hole of mech keyboards after dragging myself away from collecting headphones.  Been actually buying and using mech keyboards for a while now and lurking r/mechanicalkeyboards on reddit, but looking for a place to get more into indepth discussion around boards.

Keyboards / Monokei Systems

What's everyone's thoughts on the new Systems?
The small battery and lack of RGB don't bother me as i'll be using it wired and RGB doesn't fit the aesthetic (although some dim pulsing red lights on the black one might be cool at times)
I've pre ordered the black one with silent switches for late night writing sessions

All high lvl bosses are psychopaths, or become one over time.

Mid bosses are a bit better, but they've got the bug for sure.

I don't think personality failures play much of a role in how we should evaluate our next steps in AI. Human beings can not rule- itself, we're at death's door with regards to the climate implosion.  AI, might have a shot at preserving our legacy.

Anyway, electricity isn't the biggest concern right now, if we don't deal with animal agriculture, there is no technology viable in the next 50 years to meaningfully remove CO2 / Methane.

Even if all industrial output stopped, which would put us back into the stone age, we would still hit 2.0-2.5C, that much is baked in.

Too rapid in fossil fuel reduction has also produced intensive short term warming swings (heatwaves), as it reduces the aerosol soot layer which is masking approximately 0.2C worth of existing warming.
