West coast USA is awake now, and they are all pulling bandwidth for sure downloading the ISO.

Yeah I thought it might be at my end, but it's not :( 17% ...I wish if you didn't have enough space on your hdd the file it downloaded remained in your memory or something so you could delete stuff, make room without having to download the whole thing again :/

Anyone one else get this message:

"Continuing with the installation of Windows will change your display language. To change it back, you'll need to reinstall the language pack."

I'm running an English version of Win7 :/

Yeah, I think it looks really sharp as well. Windows explorer isn't horrible to look at, and I think the new updated icons are actually pretty cool.

I'm also using Internet Explorer because Google Chrome looks out of date compared to the OS.

I upgraded from 8.1 pro.  Smooth transition.  Start menu looks nice.  Windows update screen looks ****ty.   I want the option to choose what screen I look at, like in 8.  Can't comment on the rest yet.

I need to upgrade my Alienware Alpha. I'll report back how that goes in a few days.

I'm going to swap in a 500GB SSD at that time as well.

Which ones you wondering about? My Win 7 copy wasn't genuine and Steam, displayfusion, f-lux, rainmeter, all work fine.

No watermarks or prompts about my license either.

You guys are making me want to try out windows 10, dumb question because I honestly have mostly ignored Windows 10, if I 'upgrade' can I reinstall Windows 7 if I don't like 10?? My current license is Dell OEM Windows 7 Ultimate.

No, it will overwrite your recovery partition, if you have one. The only way back would be a clean install of Win 7.

Make sure you create recovery media in Win 7 before you upgrade.

Microsoft have said there is a 30 day roll back period. Which I'm assuming means there is a relatively simple way of going back on your choice. But I would take JD's advice.

But as someone who was wholeheartedly against Windows 8, I think you will like 10.

Ah, I didn't know they had added that. I did a clean install of the beta on a new PC build, so I have no experience yet with the upgrade path.

GOOD THING, Tp4 only plays Agar.io..

now If they updated Agar.io to DX12...  THEN I would be forced to get win 10

Hnrrmmm.. it seems win 10 is more of a battery eater for laptops at the moment..

I think we should prolly keep our laptops win 7 for now..  and wait till they get on that..

Just got it installed.... only to find out I chose 32-bit (ARGH). also, beware NVidia users, multiple monitor support doesn't seem to be working yet... sigh time to redownload the right version...

Multiple monitors work just fine once you've installed NVidia's drivers.

Autohotkey does not work with TeamSpeak in Win 10 though which is kind of strange
In the end.. the keyboard's most grand form of existence is as an ethereal bridge between man and machine..    Each depression of the keys, evanescent.. Our transitory thoughts crashing into the web, carving canyons through the internet wasteland such that life may once again flourish..

Running it now after letting it install for the whole night. It looked nice and clean. I like it but I do see some similarity with OS X particularly how it underlines the active apps in the task bar, magnifying glass on task bar and have multiple virtual desktop. But it still has many of the windows charm. This is definitely a worthy upgrade over 8.1, which was crap. I am glad to be rid of it.

Got it installed last night - I didn't bother with the beta so this is my first time experiencing windows 10

Much nicer look - they've kind of gone all Jony Ive and made everything "flat" - some people like it, some don't. I don't really care either way

Any thoughts on the new MS browser vs Chrome?

Any thoughts on the new MS browser vs Chrome?

I prefer it. I have all my widgets and plugins and **** on Chrome, but it looks dated compared to the new setup. I'm using IE until I start hating it.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Just got it installed.... only to find out I chose 32-bit (ARGH). also, beware NVidia users, multiple monitor support doesn't seem to be working yet... sigh time to redownload the right version...
Thanks for this... I would have had a meltdown when all six of my monitors wouldn't work!!!

It works after you've installed the Nvidia drivers. So far I've had no problems with my triple monitor set up.

I wondered this myself and did some digging.  Looks like it could be weeks before you get a notification.  They are doing this probably to reduce the load on their servers.  But if you dig around on the site you can find a link to download it.  It was disguised as an .iso for upgrading multiple PCs.
