[GB] Canoe by Percent Studios - R1 + R2 Fin.

my kb doesn't get recognized by the computer today (directly connected, no hub).

I couldn't get it to bootloader (holding backspace (at 1x1 on BootMapperClient) while plugging in).

How could i go debugging this?

Have you reflowed/added solder to the MCU? If not, start there. Ensure each pin looks soldered on afterwards with no bridges between pins, flux helps a lot.

looks liek the mcu is fried. replacing it fixes it for me.

I was surprised when I saw these yesterday. Was tempting as it was my first "dream board", but the colors offered in the store are kinda meh and no split backspace pushed me to other options a while back.

I think it's great they are succeeding enough to offer high quantities at a lower cost.  Let's just hope PCBs are good quality.  Did you see that it specifically says it's carved out of "American Made" aluminum?  What?!  Okay...

Same kind of crap with their Maze.  They're offering it at the same price as MD, but with free shipping (and no taxes for us who have to pay taxes on MD).  That's F'ed up!

Similar Issues... Mine spent 1 months with intermittent disconnects and having to plug it back in multiple times a day. Finally it's just dead. Flashes LEDs once when I plug it in but nothing...

Thoughts on this being MCU? Or did i fry it with ESD or something?

Percent boss is quite sensitive to IP issues (as he should be), so I am not really allowed to release anything related to canoe, lets see what he designs next for the community!

I think he is aware. Surprisingly little to no issue reports from the Chinese community. Perhaps the issues are very specific to that R1 Geekhack batch
