I would greatly prefer a vertical stripe on the ISO-enter instead of a single dot. The single dot looks out of place with the other mods in my opinion.

While I am happy that there is another run of DOTS I wish there was an SA Dots
with the still growing gmk backlog we might even have sa dots earlier than with gmk if started at the same time^^
i remember when i got into the hobby gmk lead times were 3-4 months, now we're already at 12+ with hammerhead, i don't even want to think about when we will be able to install dots2 on our keebs :eek:

The keys needed for this change are:
-R2 1.75u in the gray, the 1u backspace is already covered in base, and nobody cares enough for the orange dot being replaced by some other colored dot when it saves them money
-R3 1.25u tab, r3 1.5u enter or tab and no need for r3 1.75 as enter is already covered by caps lock and the 1us are entirely uneeded because of the r3 1us in the set already.
-R4 1.5u of any kind for shift and even then it's not really needed since we have bottom row on this legend less set. And the 1us can be sprinkled on since you would only need 2 1us more at most if at all since you already have 8 1us of different colors on the basekit so it shouldn't really be an issue. Evan/Trashman has depreciated the lock key so there is no reason to bother with it if it means thinning out a kit
Mito has shown that it is possible to do this style of kitting with legend less sets and I hope you at least give it a thought to do the same since the current kitting is inefficient and lacking. Some others suggested that you trim the kit and add better bars support but I'm personally going to push basekit 40s.
Tldr you only need 3 keys(r2 1.75, r3 1.25, and r3 1.5u) at minimum to properly support 40s in a much better kit and not force the purchase of 3 kits for small boards(base, 40s and spacebars)
P.s. can we preferably get the smaller r3s in not gray since this is supposed to be a colorful set and there really is too much gray but that's besides the point of what I'm saying. And I really do hope you give it some thought.

I have two questions:
1. Any consideration for adding one more alpha-colored R1 1u key for people wanting a uniform R1 for 60% keyboards?
2. Any consideration for duplicating the barred keys in the Rainbow add-on kits as a standalone "Homing" kit? It would make it more affordable to purchase a standalone Homing kit for paired, accent, barred keys depending on the color one fancies.

It is unreasonable (expensive and a waste of resources) to have to buy three sets to cover a small keyboard, particularly with the extreme redundancy between the base and nomad kits as well as the odd omission of full small spacebar support in the nomad. I know this is not a usual IC, but please do revise this to make it easier to stomach for those interested in putting this on a sub-60s board.
I agree that ISO Enter should at least be a vertical line (similar to the numpad enter) instead of the lonely little dot - or even an upside down L (would look a bit Tetris-style). By area, this is the largest key, it should get a larger indicator. :)

First of all, thanks for replying to the feedback. I was worried it would be drowned in the enthousiastic responses. (I'm also excited about it, btw!)
I checked on the 40s Discord before posting this. I don't think people are particularly worried about the symmetry. No one brought that up.
As for ortho users, I seriously doubt anyone with an ortho keyboard will be buying the base kit over the Rainbow kit, unless the cost is the equal.
Some 40s users will also try to get away with Rainbow + Nomad as long as R4 1.25u isn't used.
I understand your reasoning and appreciate your effort to accommodate symmetry and that is your vision for the set. But in reality I think that's not going to be the goal of those trying to cover their board without spending a whole lot of money.

Thanks a ton for listening to the feedback. My only real qualms now are lack of bars in the nomad kit but this is a huge step up since the cost shouldn't be bloated. I think a 2.25u and a 2.75u should cover most boards

if the vaporwave rama is any indication, yes, the colors look different depending on direct or indirect lighting. Even if it's a little different, probably pretty cool.

You pay your proxy and they handle the rest. If you buy from novelkeys they’ll be the one to ship it to you, not your closest proxy.

one of the VE.A clone layouts I used to use had it too. Youre probably outta luck here, but if you use the light dots, the ws1 (same white color) 1.25u spacebar is in the gmk minimal kit and someone would probably sell it to you.

Looks to me like the base kit doesn't have enough 1u mod-colored keys to cover layouts with two left-side macro columns (think J-01, VE.A, Qefreny, Sinc ...). I'd hate to be forced to buy the huge rainbow addon kit just to get these couple of extra keys, might it be worth considering adding them to base or even nomad ?
Could this be addressed? From what I can tell all that’s missing in base is two mod-colored 1u R3 keys. Could these be added? If not to base then at least to nomad kit, I’d hate to be forced to buy the huge rainbow kit just for those two keys.

It seems to me the print / mold on some these customs are a little below standard...These are double-shot keycaps. I would be dumbstruck if GMK were unable to make dots and oblong legends anything less than perfectly. Compared to the complexity of characters such as the semicolon, a big fat dot should be the easiest thing in the world.

Im actually so sad right now. Just realized that no matter how may kits i buy i wont get 1.5U R1 keys. Still best keycaps out there, but man thats a bummer.

A year+ is typically the ETA for GMK nowadays. Price is usually dictated by the MOQ.

Dots 2 didn't get an ergo kit. That is probably a sign if there was a Dots 3… not that it'd be run anytime soon given GMK delays and Dots 2 not being in production yet.
