I have recently been lurking the forums now for a week or so! I have a Tt eSPORTS Poseidon Blue Switch keyboard as well as a Noppoo Choc Mini Blue Switch. I have been wanting to customize a board and make it my own finally! :D

I really want a Black Poker II with Brown/clear switches and the granite keycap set. So there are some goals I'd like to achieve, but it's good to be apart of geekhack!

Ah customization and modding...what do you have in mind?  Lube?  Stickers?  Spring swap?

I'd highly recommend ergo clears (clears with light springs) over brown switches as the browns just don't seem to have enough tactile feedback (bump) to them.  Others prefer stock clears but I personally find them too heavy so my 60% has clears with 55g gold springs. ;)

Those are both fairly achievable goals, so I think you'll get through them quick.

And then you'll find more stuff you want. Then more.

It's all a lot of fun though.

yeah! I've been reading more and more about the ergo-clears, but I think I might like the stock clears just because of their stiffness. I really want a solid feel to the keys. Maybe I can find a PCB-Mounted kb where I can exchange switches on the fly :D

I think so! I am looking into MX Clears - a little less noise, but I sure do love the tactile feel.

A lot of people swear by MX clears.

The only thing is, they are sometimes difficult to find!  If you really want them, keep looking, and as soon as you see a keyboard with clears - buy it!

If you eventually decide you don't like clears (they are stiffer than some people expect), make sure you look after the keyboard and you should be able to sell it for not much less than you bought it, and chalk the difference up to experience.
