CCnG!!!!

I think it is time to host a GB for this key set instead of having everyone scrounge around for a set and paying 200 dollars for one!

I'm just going to put the bare minimum of what needs to be done up here for right now, and others can chime in and we can add more!

If there is enough interest shown in the next couple of days here is what I will do/is already being worked on!

TO DO:
- I asked Batmann if he could create some mockups of the base, mods, tsangan, numpad, iso, and some spacebars maybe? Hopefully they're ready in the next couple of days!
- Will need to get in contact with Melissa from SP and ask for maybe a couple pictures of the colors used for all those who don't know.
- Also need to ask her about pricing per tier, i.e. 50 sets ordered = $30 or something along those lines.
- Create a googledoc for people to express interest in what they would order if this were a GB (hopefully we can move this thread over to a GB soon)!

- I know I am missing something important, but please let me know what I can also include to really get my first hosting of a GB going!!!!

Great news though.. I've decided to make it so that there will be a CCoG and GoCC option for all key sets (base, mods, tsangan, 17key)!

Yeah that is what I've heard, and I don't really want a huge wait :/

I plan on emailing Melissa tomorrow expressing our interest and getting the pricing and what not! Will turn this into a GB thread once I hear back from her and get the mock ups from my main man Batmann!

This time make sure you are offering a "Tracking Number" with shipping and no more 'trust me I sent it in the post' routine (I got suckered to many times before).  This way you have proof you actually sent the items plus it gives me an idea whereabouts it's located along the transit course.

Besides all the Professionals here on Geekhack use tracking for all of their sales, which I always now buy from exclusively.

I totally agree, I will have a tracking number for every order! I always try and provide one on every sale. Hopefully we can go through this with only a few minor setbacks, but if it goes anything like that DSA Retro GB that Matt is holding, we will be sitting pretty! I have to say that has been a flawless GB and I'm hoping we can be as flawless!

If you are going to follow his footsteps then you can't go wrong.  Just state clearly when the GB will start and end. Also the end-date for all the "dead-presidents" roundup.

Don't be afraid to ask Matt3o how he avoided any pitfalls with his GB, because after all this is still a forum about sharing the good stuff around to all members.

A Group Buy is still so intimidating to anyone wanting to run it for the FIRST time.  Don't be shy to ask for help when arranging this.

The biggest issue I could see with GMK would be MoQ.  I think most of us can agree that klaxon ended up being fairly popular (I don't think it was the highest purchased ever (hell, retro is walking all over that, especially with the help from our friendly neighborhood retail partners buying large amounts(don't know why no one did that for klaxon, but moving on...))) and it wasn't halfway to what's needed by GMK.

There are a lot of parenthetical additions to that, geez, tj l2writeenglish.

Not a sin. I just don't think I would be interested in a bunch of DSA profile keycap sets. I like the C64 look, and white on blue would be cool, but that's about where it ends for me. Personal preference.

White on blue made me think of cream cheese on blue, which would look as good or better.  I should put these ideas in my after klaxon thread.  Assuming I don't go crazy between now and klaxon ending.

I remember when I posted this, a lot of members didn't like the font one bit.  Oh well..  I love mine so I kept it. lol
