Hi, I suggest some changes to your base kit, about ISO keys, since you reverse the row order of cherry profile, i'm gonna go with your row order. I don't really know about any layouts that use a R3 1u "\|" key, if it's for ISO, I recommend moving this key to you R2 so your base kit can cover both US and UK ISO (US Iso only need a R2 "\|" key).
can the norde kits be combined?
I feel like you can make your kits a lot smaller since most of the alt kits are the same but with a couple of different colored keys, for example norde and numpad, I don't see any difference in the Norde kits other than the 3 keys on the bottom, so maybe offering those 3 keys in a different kit so that people that want both colors dont get most of the norde kit duplicated
ne b in base avail
Would be great to have a "B" key in spacebars kits for anyone who use alice layout instead buying Norde kits just for the "B" key

I would like to see mod pipe in the mod kits.
No mod pipe or tilde... Looks cool, but I'd have to use another set with mods I want to match it.
Commented earlier but feel I would need to ask - will there be any issues regarding IP / copyrights running this?
- Two UK-only keys (#~ and '@) are present in the Norde kits.
- 1U R3 \| makes little sense, given that the rest of the keys required for a 14.5U alpha block are absent.
move the R1 <> key from the Norde kits to the base kit and with that you'll have full English (USA) over ISO support.
The Macintosh-specific alphas (R4 §± and R1 `~) are out of place as well, given no explicit Mac support is given (outside the icon-only modifiers).
Love the font, the execution, the modifiers, and the presentation. Too bad I only use Lightroom...
If only there was one for Lightroom and XD...but regardless I love this concept! Since I use both extensively, I was wondering if it was possible to make another kit that is a combination of both. I don't know how well that would look, but if it doesn't I don't mind buying individual kits depending on the price.
I'm in for the novelties!
Maybe it's just me being weird but I wonder how it would look if both mods are used, with orange mods left and blue mods right (kinda like Portal). As a heavy user of both PS and AI I'd buy both mod sets if somebody could render how a mix of mods look
i think the Norde AI Accents should be in the Norde PS kit too bc i dont know if they both hit MOQ so i would just combine them.
Super pumped for this! I think for 40's kit, its missing the 1u CAPS lock and the " ' alpha key in mods color (for preonic and planek to match the grids.
Any plans for blanks for more compatibility?
Also no eraser icon for novelties? :(
Figma version when
Use icons for the modifiers' bottom rows.100% agree. I see they are in one of the child kits but the base should just be all icon.

Is there a specific reason why the R1-Y of the international kit doesnt have the icon-sublegends of the R3 Y on it?
As a graphic designer, this is so so so tempting ugh! But now I'm contemplating whether I need another reminder of my everyday work life :(use it at work ... if you work from home ... just get a dedicated work keeb ;)
I like the colors of the mods a lot. For those who don't use PS/AI on a daily basis though, it would be nice if there was an alternate alphas kit without the icons. I'd definitely consider buying the set if that was an option.
If an icon-free-alpha base kit is offered, I would take both sets.

Funny you should mention that...
Why is it funny? I also like my keys to be clutter-free.

Edit: The function row in the base color does not make sense, as it is not a full row and it is redundant with the function row in the mod-sets.

Stylistically I prefer all F-row keys to be the same colour, whereas some others prefer to have alternating modifier and alpha coloured F-row keys. To accommodate both, the easiest thing to do was add the F-row keys to the alphas kit, and keep modifier-coloured ones in the mod kits. That way people can choose how to build the F-row out.
This is so so cool. I was hesitant until you added the Neutral Modifiers, but now I'm 100% sold.
I'm all in, great work, I especially like the blue one!
Hope they don't cost a fortune ;)
Wish there was a set of modifiers in a green theme but I understand it's a tough ask.

That will have to come in another set :)

Also wanted to state that I love the overall design of this set! The additions of the neutral sets are much appreciated.
The only piece of feedback I have--and it may be very minor--is that the legend design of the Enter key clashes with the rest. Most/all key legends are angular with the exception of the Enter key which uses a curved arrow design. I think there would be more consistency if the Enter key's legend design was also angular, but that's just my two cents!

I actually think it fits well. The other sharp angles are all less than 90 degrees so the curved look wouldn't make sense there.
I think the point is that the angular design of the rest of the mods are nice already, and so the singular curve on the enter is the odd one out

I've been reading this topic with some interest! It’s an interesting one, but I personally don’t feel like the rounded tail on the enter symbol is inconsistent. There are quite a few other modifier symbols that have rounded elements, particularly the Command symbol for Mac, and the lock symbols (Num Lock and Layer Lock, the latter of which is only in the Nomad kit). At one point there was a different symbol on the 1u backspace key in the Nomad kit, as I had misinterpreted this as being akin to a ‘back’ button in a browser (the default GMK legend in my template just has the word 'Back'), and this also had a rounded hook on the end. Ultimately it comes down to personal taste to a degree, and so I’ve opted for a certain look that I think works well, but hopefully enough others like it too.
I'm really interested in this but it would appear the neutral set is not in the IC form. Is that normal?
Great looking set! If there will be a UK ISO kit, count me in for both Neutral sets and accessory kits please.

UK ISO support is provided in the base alphas kit (when paired with one of the modifier kits, which have ISO enter keys).
+1 for NorDE kit.+2 for NorDE Kit. Super hyped for this.
Those that get the neutral-mod set will pay for duplicated function rows. The neutral function row could be moved to a separate kit that may be bought by anyone that needs it.

Yes; I think looking at how the kitting works right now the better option would be to just remove function keys from the neutral modifier kit. Since those are included with both alphas kits, it’s probably unnecessary for them to be included in any other kit (since who needs function keys but doesn’t have any alphas keys?)
Sixty and under-sixty users may need the alphas and the mods, but not the function row.

Indeed! But the opposite (needing F keys but not alphas) isn't really a thing (unless somebody is making a macropad that just has F keys, maybe?)
Super hyped! Any time frame estimate on when this will go to GB?

EnjoyPBT weren't in a position to quote at the point I reached out to them, and since I'm in the process of moving house I've been happy to let this sit idle for a little while. As soon as they are ready to quote I will update with all the information here. Several vendors have been in touch so I'm looking forward to sharing details and hopefully get a group buy date in front of people. Obviously no promises at this point, but I'd like to think it should be possible before the middle of the year!

I am a bit late in responding, but I appreciate the direct reply regarding the discussion! At the end of the day, I do think it is a very nuanced design choice. And, although I would personally prefer an angled Enter key, you are ultimately the creator and artist of this wonderful keycap set. It's also not going to stop me from picking one up if a group buy comes into fruition!
I'm not sure I understand why that has to do with it. Currently, anyone needing F keys will also get a full F set with their modifiers, so shouldn't they be taken out of alphas to reduce cost? It makes more sense to remove them from alphas rather than the neutral mods.Sixty and under-sixty users may need the alphas and the mods, but not the function row.

There’s two ways of cutting down on duplication: removing them from the alphas kits, or the neutral mods kit. The former would mean anybody who wants to have an F row consisting of alternating colour blocks of 4 F keys (which seems popular) would need to buy an alphas kit, a neutral modifiers kit and a modifier kit in their chosen colour. It would make the alphas kit cheaper for all those who only care about alphas, or intend to use the same colour for all their F keys (but arguably it shouldn’t make a price difference to them: the kits will likely end up having the same approximate combined price).
The alternative, of removing the F keys from the neutral modifier kit simplifies things: everyone who wants to use neutral F keys gets them in base. Anyone who wants either colour, or alternating F keys, can add a modifier kit. The only downside is for people who don’t care about F keys at all for whom this will inflate the price of the alpha kit somewhat.
Both ways involve moving costs from one group of users to another, it’s just a question of which will hurt which group most. Until I have a quote it’s hard to judge how bad it is, but I’ll be making the final call based on the survey result which should hopefully give an indication of how I should finalise the kits.

I sort of hate to do this but I feel the need to ask the question again. Will there be a modern neutral kit as well? As many other pointed out it's a must have for those who will go for that theme.
Apologies for not replying more directly! My original opinion was to offer it if enough people asked for it, but since there’s no MOQ on non-base kits I suspect it should be fine to add anyway. My computer and desk are all packed up in boxes right now so I’ll probably not be moving this further along for a week or more, but my intention is to pick up the thread in mid/late April.

So I just had this idea and am wondering if this can be made with the set: is it possible to include a novelty set that's a uniform R1 profile with all the icons from the toolbar? I am just drawing with Adobe Illustrator today and thought it could be super helpful to have a 2x10 macropad (e.g. butterknife from sneakbox) with these uniform keys, so I can have the macropad right next to a tablet for easy command toggles....
ne updates avail? :(
The <> key belongs to the Norde kit and not the base set that already carries the \| key that goes with the UK layout. But, the Norde should have the <>\ and <>|, which covers Danish, Swedish, and Finish variations. An option is to leave the <> key in the base and provide the other two in the Norde kit. I have some reservations against the current trend to provide the <> and base sets to cover iso-like layouts with 1.25u left shift, and I think that \| key is a better match for it when the pipe-backslash cannot be fitted over the Enter-key due to the ISO-enter.
Lovin this, any updates on this one soon?
Actually, I can post a brief description of where I’m at with the project.
As some of you may know, it’s taken time for EnjoyPBT to refine their reverse dyesub mould, meaning that many projects using ePBT have been on hold. That process is finally starting to look ready for production, and so samples for various sets are starting to come together. Mine should hopefully be in that group soon.
In the meantime I’ve spent considerable time completely reworking the design, moving from using Illustrator to using Figma to manage the set. This was time consuming but definitely worth the effort, as I currently have a total of 18 kits (!!!) and managing these all within a single Illustrator file was becoming impossible. Using Figma’s component system makes it a lot easier for me to tweak things and have the changes propagate across the entire set of kits. Oh, and in case you were wondering, the irony of designing an Illustrator-inspired set of keycaps in Figma is not lost on me!
I’ve also been working on some as-yet unannounced extras that will be part of the group buy, including artisans and other cool things to complement the set. More details (including product renders etc.) will accompany the full group buy, which I’m hoping will take place within the next couple of months!

The circled keycap has the legends wrong. It shall be ,; instead. It is part of the Norde kit.
glad to hear! any confirmed vendors yet?

Thanks for pointing that out - I’ll make sure it’s fixed (assuming it hasn’t already been, I’ve made quite a few kitting changes from the existing renders)!
I have been seen other ePBT renders with the same error, I hope that it is just on their renders and not in their manufacturing.

ePBT is all dyesub, so the majority of sets will have bespoke legends anyway. My guess is the error exists in Keyboard Render Kit’s default NorDe legends and it propagated from there.
Are there any new developments with this? I have a pocket full of cash and I'm practically drooling over this entire set. And look, before I get handled, I don't know how these processes play out, ok? This would be my first GB, but its weird to me that this has been in an IC stage for half a year. Educate me if you must, but I'm just barreling into this thread without any consideration of the typical M.O. for ICs/GBs, this forum, or the hobby. I'm simply an outsider with an interest and a question; where these keys at?
Just a quick bump to let folks know that there’s a major kitting update on the original post. Go check it out!
Great looking set. I love the addition of the Italian/Spanish/Portuguese kit. I just miss the R3 `^[ for perfect ISO-ES compatibility. Also R2 ´¨ with tertiary legends would be ´¨{ in ISO-ES.

Hi, thanks! Both of these keys are covered in the IT/ES/PT set, but you could be forgiven for not spotting them immediately. In both cases these are ‘dead keys’ (so they are followed up with a compatible character to apply a diacritical mark to), and I have chosen to indicate these with a dotted circle below the corresponding diacritical. You can find the specific keys you mentioned at R3, 3rd from right, and R2, 4th from right.

ooops no 2.5u then, but 3u does exist right?maybe you were thinking of 2.25 or 2.75? both of which exist

Would the GB for the set run this year?
Would the GB for the set run this year?
I had hoped to run the group buy this year, and had started getting other things in place to support that, but at this point I’m not optimistic. I want to get product samples before I run the group buy and I’m still waiting on those. I’m told I should get them within a couple of weeks, but other group buys from ePBT that finished months ago still don’t have samples, so I’ll not hold my breath.
Since there are question marks over colour matching I want to be sure of what the finished product will look like before I commit to a GB; I’d hate for there to be either a protracted waiting period for colour matching (like Dracula) or a massive mismatch between expectations and reality (as with some other reverse dyesub sets).
You never know though; if everything comes together and samples happen quickly it might be possible before the end of the year, but I’d say I’m targeting Q1 2022 at this point.
Apple's insistence to still (even on the 2021 MacBooks, bah) use a non-standard layout in the UK drives me nuts but after so many years of use it's starting to feel a little more natural to me than the "correct" UK-ISO. The idea of having a custom board match my various Macs is really resonating with me. I'm not even a big Adobe user, I just love this project for that reason.
I hope you're able to secure a UK vendor.
Any updates? :)
Waiting patiently for this. It seems like a great set.
I have samples in-hand:Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/dyTuZJB.jpg)
Is there a ePBT's BAE mold available?
Ahh, Big Ass Enter? If so, no; I don’t think so.
No worries; I’d heard of Big Ass Enter but for some reason I was drawing a blank!
Will you be asking for more samples, especially for the alphas? They look more bluish-grey than neutral grey (they should match to 425C? basing all this on one photo, please excuse if they do look correct in-person) Available mods and accents look well matched.
Personally would hesitate about epbt GBs at the moment, hopefully it's all sorted out by the time this is ready for a GB.
premiere pro getting no love
Do you still think you're on track for a 2022 GB?
Not sure if this project is still alive but I want to believe !
Do you still think you're on track for a 2022 GB?
I don't want to suggest any firm dates, but right now it's looking like the tail end of the year. I'm hoping that doesn't mean 2023 though
