Need to replace my Ducky DK1087
« on: Mon, 01 July 2013, 22:36:54 »
I have all sorts of mechanical keyboards but I really enjoy the ALPS feel, and the clone ALPS in my Ducky DK1087 are wearing down from constant, daily use.

Where might I find a vendor who might be able to sell me a replacement Ducky DK1087?

Thanks!!

They're sold out at MechKeyboards.com and likely everywhere else. Why not try a Matias board?

I picked up one from pchome for $43 shipped to the US.

http://ecshweb.pchome.com.tw/global/en/v1/ducky%201087?Site=ENG&Scope=&CurPage=1&SortParm=RNK&SortOrder=DC

They're currently sold out, but keep an eye on them, I've been watching them pop in and out of stock these past few weeks. Also apparently the 1000 series has been discontinued, so expect it to get harder and harder to find them as time goes on.

Matais is really expensive--do they really offer ALPS switches?  Please do tell.

Thanks, kmilller8, I will take a look.

If you can find a SIIG with alps they are about $70. They quit making them about  a year ago but are still available some places. I might have one with a couple of missing key caps.
SSKs for everyone!

Matias has their own brand of ALPS design in their newest keyboards. Clicky and tactile (silent) are their two versions. But yes, they are priced as a mid-range Cherry MX board (~$120).

Also look for "Solidtek ASK-6600" boards; it's basically the Siig but thirty bucks cheaper.

I'll vouch for the Matias boards. ALPS switches aren't really for me, but Matias boards are just about the best ALPS boards you can buy new right now.

I've a huge fan of the Matias Tactile Pro boards and the Dell AT101W. If you can find a Filco Zero, I would also recommend that. But...if you find a Filco Zero and buy it before me, I will hunt you down because that is one of my dream boards :P.

why don't you buy matias switches and desolder ur ducky and solder the matias ones? I believe for $25 you can buy 100 switches.

MK has them for $37 for a 110-pack and $32 for a 90-pack:
