Sorry if it's been mentioned, but what's our price estimate for the set?  Depending on price, I'd be in...

Also, I think the keys look good in Yellow as you designed, with just the symbols on them.  However, the one Lysol posted looks better in that Orange vs the Yellow.

Current pricing is looking to be around $2 per cap for production so that will make the total price $24US for the 12-key set.

I think that's quite reasonable. Let me know if you're in for a set!

Potentially count me in for 1 ...
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Sorry I forgot to write a post here regarding updates.

I've spoken to i3oileramaker and he said he should have prototypes within the next 1-2 weeks.

However the set will be sold from techkeys.us as this will help manage orders because there will be no money collection then commission to have the keys made etc.

Sign up at techkeys.us so that you'll be notified of when the set is available.

Here's a fun site that is sort of related because of the symbols ... http://www.warninglabelgenerator.com/

The gas mask symbol is funny, I like the image of the gears crushing fingers for a keycap especially.  I like the slippery surface images too.

+1 for fingers in gears.

my least favorites are the ! (too generic) the X (ditto) and the magnet.

Even the magnet could stay if the ! or X got swapped. I'm sure there are better symbols. Maybe put the ! in a triangle, or swap em for fragile (the broken wine glass) or slipping hazard (always popular) or even non-ionising radiation ( http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/8a/Radio_waves_hazard_symbol.svg/220px-Radio_waves_hazard_symbol.svg.png )

agree/disagree?

Lol...... I love that one as well.  It's usually on Manufacturing Machinery which I've seen.  Some areas that will literally rip your arms out if your hands get caught.

That would be seriously cool if chosen.

Apologies if this has been answered and I've missed this but are these going to be doubleshot?  Also, from the 1st post update am I right in thinking that interest registered here is not really needed since they'll simply be listed on techkeys?

Yeah I did consider putting that one in but decided against it because of how detailed it is. I don't think the final cap would come out as nice looking.

These key caps will be dyesub-ed so it's still quite a good quality. Yes, the caps will be on techkeys so there's not whole lot of need for the expression of interest.

Awesome - I suppose dyesub will work well with black on yellow.  Also awesome that they'll be on techkeys - will they be cheaper here though?  (Poker mods were $5ish per set here and $12 per set there for example)

Dye subs are more expensive than double shots since you don't get much of a price break for bulk orders.  I still think the set will be reasonable when all is said and done.

They will be top row so they will fit on the Esc/F1-F12 row or the Number Row.

I'm pretty sure it's totally doable as dyesub. Can't hurt to run it by Melissa, anyway.
