Some information about it:
Linear
67G/62G
Gold springs

GB time is late April or Early May
-
What can I compare the weight to? Is it a little heavier or lighter than a Gateron Black switch?

Lighter than Black.
-
Excited to see another new switch! I will definitely want some.
-
May I ask what makes the switch stand out from the bunch? Gold spring and 67g, would it just be a newer and luxurious vintage black?

We just love the colour so we do it. ;D

Thank you ;D ;D ;D

The switches look amazing, 100% in. Thank you for making a new linear!

Thank you.I am using it now and it's a good linear.
-
What firmware/programming will the PCB use? Anything we have seen before? QMK? Bootmapper?
-
This is awesome guys! I'd love to get both the Tangerines and the new PCB sometime in the future!
-

We developed a whole new firmware and software to programe it. Totally new stuff.

I am sorting the switches now and the first 5000 piece will be selling in a week and then there will be a GB in a month or so. ;D
Gald you like it

So it is not an open source software? Another vendor lock? Thank you, but no.

So its really just a color change?
-
I like the idea of a switch in the orange color, as well as with the perfect weight spring for me. I'm interested.

It being new/different doesn't preclude it also being open.
-
I would like to hear your reasons for why creating new software is a good idea.
What are you offering that QMK/TMK, KLL, BMC are not offering?
Why would your software be better and why should we use it?
What was missing in QMK/TKL, KLL, BMC? Was it documentation?
What was the reason why you didn't go any of the more established routes?
Is it going to open sourced?
How many other keyboards can use your software?
-
Are the switches similar to the REVO Whites from Gateron? Im excited for a nice linear either way ;D
-
the stem color is lively.
I'm using some revo white switches right now. They are beautiful and smooth.
-
Super stoked to see more projects from you!
Kinda odd that your switches have a black bottom & can't take advantage of the RGB in your PCB. Where's the synergy?
Will be following along, even if I'm not a linear or TKL guy!
-

The question is why you need a brand new software/firmware for your PCB. There is already a good one called QMK and it is also open source. Which means it can be supported by community.
By introducing another firmware/software you make people dependent on you which is called vendor lock. It is always bad because only you can fix bugs/add features. If you decide to abandon your software your hardware is no more than a piece of junk. Why not using/improving QMK instead? Why reinvent a wheel?
-
PCB looks interesting :thumb:

I can't imagine why they didn't use a stack that doesn't have much in the way of per-key RGB features for the basis of their per-key RGB TKL PCB. Real head-scratcher there...
I'm not bashing QMK by any stretch, heck I'm halfway through the designing of my own QMK-powered PCB, it's just that different makers will have different priorities that inform different choices. Not every PCB designer is gonna want to spend endless hours extending the QMK spec to support the feature, especially if they're more familiar with other starting points/branches.
And once again, just because they may not have forked QMK as a starting point doesn't mean it's inherently closed & locked in. And even if the software is locked in & cruddy doesn't mean you have to use it. Port QMK to it, just like what's been done with the ps2avrGB boards. (https://github.com/qmk/qmk_firmware/tree/master/keyboards/ps2avrGB) A $75 per-key-RGB TKL PCB is a gift to the community, even with less-than ideal software/firmware.
-
basically modern nixies. interesting.
-
I'm very interested in the switches. How smooth are they compared to retooled blacks or tealios and any comments on wobble and spring feel?
-
very interested in both

Doesn't KLL have good RGB support?
In any case, as long as they open-source both the PCB design and whatever new firmware they write, that would be good enough for me.

KLL does have good RGB support, but I believe that it's got really limited hardware support that's actually built around/for a chip that's no longer readily available, necessitating a port to a different ARM chip, as per here (https://www.reddit.com/r/olkb/comments/87cvud/whats_new_in_qmk_people_hardware_and_software/dwdd73z/).
The QMK Proton-C & the ARM chip it's based on will open up the possibility for a lot of neat hardware, but it's not quite ready yet. Soon, though.

Interested in why one might choose these over vintage blacks/tealios.

Interested in why one might choose these over vintage blacks/tealios.
Weight, price, aesthetic factor?
I imagine these will be another good option for people who don't want to buy several batches of vintage blacks to get consistent results, as well as for people who can't stomach the cost of tealios.

there's no word on pricing for the switches yet, but this is bang on
hunting for good vints is a PITA, although retooled blacks are pretty readily available through arrow.com at this point
but those don't have a cool orange stem
-
not sure if this is mentioned, but the bottom housing doesn't look like it supports SMD RGB leds the best. Looks like a normal bottom that supports 4 pin RGB leds.
-
Chance to own an "obscure" limited switch?
Count me in.
-
Where will the switches be available? Will there be a preorder for them?
-
Excited for that new TKL PCB! What's the best way to tell if my keyboard has A87 compatibility?
-
Excited for that new TKL PCB! What's the best way to tell if my keyboard has A87 compatibility?
USB port between F12 and PRTSC, USB on top of the PCB, not a 356 series board
custom TKLs only
some PCBs don't work with every case, though, footprint weirdness
-
Are the Gateron switches still wobbly?
-
Interested!
-
I want the switches and the PCB.
edit: Can I buy the PCB now ;D
-
Interested in those switches.
I'm not the biggest linear fan but I figure I'd give them a fair shot, at the least. If the price is reasonable, I'm in for some.
-
Interested.

I'm always down for some good linears ;D

Thanks for the info, it'd be cool to have a wiki of customs somewhere with what size PCB belongs to each board.
-
In for some tangerines - is there a mailing list or anything I can join so that I don't miss this?

i was working on it for a while but it got to be a bit too much for really specific stuff like this
PCB sizing is weird

For PCB questions.
1,LDN have faster CPU. We use STM32F103. 72M frequency. More faster and Expandable. Key scan frequency:500hz(of course we can 1000hz but no need). We use another programme method and believe it can be more powerful. Control software is easy to learn to use. And we will use more advanced STM controllor to make it better.
2,Alough we wont open sourse, but we will open API.
3,We will have a video to show the light mode. It can be customized by our software.Instructions will released when GB open.
4,We will keep updating LDN and fix the bug.If you have any question using our PCB you can PM me here or send an email, We will answer all the questions regrading our product.
5,We dont think other PCB is bad, we just want to create a new PCB and work on it.
6,Instead of standing on the shoulders of giants, we want to be giants.
P.S we will do both B.87 and A.87 Size.
For Switch questions.
1,It's not just change of colour,it also smooth.
2,Since we started this project really early so we didnt use transparent bottom. We may do it later to fit our RGB Pcb.
-
Instructions will released when GB open.
About this: do you plan to run the switches and the pcb at the same time? Or one some time after the other

Excited to get in on a board's worth of switches. Any chance we could get an idea when they'll go live tomorrow?
-
Yeah, some idea of when they'll happen would be nice since I can't really spend all day tomorrow lurking the thread.

I wouldn't mind having a time to come back for either...

In for 90
edit: ... at least I hope. Not sure if I had a typo in my paypal address please tell me if you sent my invoice.

Ordered a pack :)

Would you please PM me to notify me when PCB GB is on? Thanks a million.
-
Ordered 90. Will they be different to Tealios?
-
Would you please PM me to notify me when PCB GB is on? Thanks a million.
I don't think that's how this works my guy. It's unfair and selfish to ask a GB runner to PM just you when this goes on sale. It'd be better if they could message everyone but since that's terribly inefficient it's best to just leave everyone on an equal playing field with no notification PM.
-
I'm in for some of these things. Sure why not. Ordered 90. If they're basically milky tealios then that's cool with me.

This is also an IC for the PCB, which hasn't gone into GB yet. Not sure if you knew or not but just mentioning it. Up to you whether this stays open or it gets locked and a separate IC is made for the PCB while a GB is made for the switches.

Nah the switches are definitely a GB. Imo it makes more sense to make a GB thread for the switches and then leave this open for the PCB IC. Instead of locking this and making a GB for the switches and a new IC for the PCB.
Up to the Mod but just pointed it out since he might have missed the PCB IC.

the forum is called "group buys and preorders"
this might fall more under the preorder category

Yes I'd rather have two seperate threads, to clear the confusion. I'm keeping this open for now, but I'm strongly advising the OP to make a GB thread for the switches, or I have to remove the link. When GB thread is made, just PM me or report the thread so I can approve it faster :thumb:

If this website is built on top of wordpress, then it seems like an issue on their end. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/help-links-redirect-to-spam-page/
If this is a malicious attempt to scam people, I don't know why they would choose an amusement park of all things lol.
Copying the URL into the browser's bar is a work around.
-
Copy/Paste worked. :thumb:
Can you imagine though? "wonder when my switches will show up?"... and you bought 3 tickets to a theme park in Rome.

I suggest that the link of the order form be modified,
since I think that's considered a malicious attempt.

LOL

Rofl, yea, I actually tried on my phone afterwards when copy/pasting worked because I felt like it was probably my adblock on my computer - it took me to the same page as shown above, which is hilarious (and a little tragic).

Well done. Really looking forward to them.
-
Got mine in yesterday. Wasn't able to give them a really thorough try yet because I don't have time to lube and build another board again right now, but I put one lubed switch on the escape of my 910 and I gotta say I'm pleasantly surprised.
Keep in mind this is still only a single switch, but it's right next to a vintage black which usually makes other switches look bad in comparison.... Well not this time.
I'm actually shocked by how little wobble it has and how good it sounds (please don't change the housings in the groupbuy, they are perfect like this), which is usually a big problem with gateron made switches. Though the springs are quite pingy if you don't lube them.
For anyone who thought these would be just like normal clear top gateron linears (wobbly, very high pitched sound): they're not, and that's great.
-
When will the GB for the PCB will start?
-
Anyone ordered too many switches/doesn't like them and wants to get rid of them?
I'd take em :p
-
When will the GB for the PCB will start?
Really soon. We been working for it.
-
Tangerines were just delivered. Can't wait to give them a try.

You and me both

I am surprised nobody else noticed this, but I found that many of my tangerine switches bind when pressed off-axis using an angled keycap. Here's a video demonstration: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/359501871783870474/450878482268946432/video.mov . The first switch is a Cherry MX red, the second is a Tangerine.
Disassembling and reassembling the switch didn't fix the problem, nor did swapping parts between switches. However, using Cherry tops did fix the problem, and putting the Tangerine top on a Cherry red caused the Cherry to start binding. So the issue seems to be the top housing. Given how easy it is to get these switches to bind with any kind of angled keycap, I'm not sure I want to use them in any build.
At least 2 out of 10 or so switches I tested had this problem.

Just tested about 20 of them now and I didn't have this issue on any of them. Just bad luck, maybe?
-
I also tested a handful of them with not a single one binding... could it be the caps you are using? I tried mine with Cherry profile PBT and as well as GMK caps and had no problems at all.
-
Mine have not binded at all either
-
I've been using the Tangerines in my Singa for the past week and I have not had one key bind or even come close to it. That doesn't mean it isn't worth checking my unused remainder, but it's hard to believe I just happened to pick the ones that would work perfectly :p.

Hi,everyone
Tangerine switch GB will be alive after i finish shipping mountain GB.
From what i heard, this switch is good enough. This time it will be 2 kind. We add another bottom to fit RGB pcbs.
Leadtime will be 1-2months,tbd. Price is the same.

There will be no qty limit this time. But its' still 90 and 150 pack. It's easy for us to pack them. As a start-up company we simply don't have enough man power.

Great to hear that more switches are going to be available! Looking forward to picking up a 90 pack

Excited to see the group buy pop up when it does.

This is great news, didn't get enough of them last time. They are pretty great switches, so will have to get the RGB ones and wait to build my Mountain board.

sadly some bad news for you, this time you have to wait for the switches. Last time,we made 5000 as sample. So that was quick. This time you have wait factory to manufacture them.

Little bit of a bump but I'm just curious - do you have any rough ETA for when the GB may open? I know you said after you're done with Mountain and I've been keeping up with most of the updates on that thread but I'm not sure if you have any estimate for when it may be finished.
Thanks!
