I'm not going to tell you anything surprising here, it's an age old saying:  Patience is a virtue.

There are monks that take an eternity to reach enlightenment, and if it's something you really want you should have passion for obtaining it.  You're right, saying things like you need to go network and it takes time is very ambiguous and vague.  But what fun is your journey if I gave you every answer?  You'd lose passion, give up this hobby and like a lot of other people, sell off everything you have for another passion/hobby.

I still love keyboards today because there is still so much I can learn from people.  I reach out, I email, I PM, I discuss and I try.  It's a passion, something you have a deep intimate relationship for.
So....TL;DR no sex until getting married to your keyboard? :P

feels like you won't be friend with the cool kids if you are under 1000 posts and if you don't spend hundreds in Clacks, caps and korean boards.
this place is more of a marketplace than anything else but in the end I don't give a **** because I like keyboards and I don't fully understand half of the cool kids posts!

The select few thing boggles my mind.  I've been here a fairly short amount of time and I seem to have fit in fine for the most part.  Maybe that's because I'm crazy active and am willing to spend money on things that I want to purchase?  I dunno, but I don't feel like I'm on the outside looking in at the cool guys party.

BTW, I love this keyboard that I bought to help support this place, I don't know if I've mentioned that at all, and I know this is the hate thread and not the love thread.

to sell overpriced key caps

I don't know why I'm so pissed about this

I have said this a million times, and I will say it again; they are only overpriced to the people that wouldn't pay that much.

There's plenty of ugly a$$ paintings in this world that sell for millions, yet I wouldn't consider paying more than $5 for them. Let's keep this in perspective.

I feel like there's something I should be pointing out here, but I think I'll pass.

But I do think I understand a bit of the vitriol on your end now -

Anyone wants to part with on the poker? I just want the candy corn cap :D

The OP will sell for $150

Personally, I don't mind, when in an auction setting, caps going for stupid high prices.  Hell, I spent nearly double what an Ironman went for initially and was nearly willing to spend $300 on a Julysicle.  When people see that and just go "Oh, my cap must be worth that much, too because it was made by the same person so I will sell it for that one price only!" that's a bit different scenario.  I can't articulate why, but it just feels different /shrug.

And finally -

The select few thing boggles my mind.  I've been here a fairly short amount of time and I seem to have fit in fine for the most part.  Maybe that's because I'm crazy active and am willing to spend money on things that I want to purchase?  I dunno, but I don't feel like I'm on the outside looking in at the cool guys party.

I guess I'm pissed about offering goods to the community at fair prices (I asked what I should be selling for) and then see someone else sell something else at insanely high prices. What they are selling takes no specialized equipment or skill and has no risk of injury. What I do requires specialized equipment, a knowledge of what you're doing and has a risk of maiming yourself. I've had 2-3 people try to do what I do, but even they say that their results have not matched my quality. But yet that other persons stuff sells for way more than your stuff does? Riddle me that batman.

Anyways I'm getting into the key cap making business so I can rape on prices too

Dude keep it simple with me and cut the witty formula, you are probably the hardest to understand for me. I can sense you are gifted with word science but It's beyond my reach. You can probably understand that if you sometimes try to speak a foreign language in a crowd of native.
I don't see were you wanna go with the above post nor with this one:
