That's because it IS a 103U. The 103U-UW isn't actually a different keyboard. It's just old stock.
This caused a lot of confusion. EliteKeyboards is good at causing confusion.
It isn't EK necessarily causing the confusion, because they are different boards. I get that, as far as spec is concerned, they are the "same" board. But they are not the
same board. They are different model boards that happen to have the same spec (far as I know). It has a different model number on the back of the board, so it is not a 103U board, but it shipped in a 103U box.
So it is a different keyboard and it is identifiable as such. Except by the box...at least the box I have. So my question remains, anybody with a 103U-UW have the same box as 103U or is it U-UW?
