repair logitech g502, hair wrapped around wheel
« on: Sun, 07 August 2016, 04:26:05 »
hi,

i have a bunch of hair and gunk wrapped around the sides of the wheel. it works but it will no longer freewheel. i know how to take it apart no problem. the problem i have is every time i took off the pads/feet on a logitech gaming mouse they were damaged upon replacement. is there any way i can get to the wheel without removing the pads or is there a way to remove and restick the pads without damaging them?

i love this mouse but see no reason to buy a new one if i do not have to since rgb hardly matters to me.

thank you

I managed to do this on my CM Storm, probably depends what the pads are made of.  I slid a credit card under the edge to minimise bending and put them in a sealed bowl to minimise dust on the sticky...

If you can find the screws without taking the pads off could you carefully cut holes in the pad with a scalpel leaving the rest of the pad intact?

Worst comes to worst you can always get replacement pads :thumb:

I busted the wheel trying to clean it! Not worth it considering you can get the mouse for 40 bucks and I know of no replacement parts.

Yeah, I snapped the clear plastic "cradle" in half duh.

super glue,  these parts don't operate under much force,  you should be able to glue it and it'd work just fine.
