Hello GH!

I have a few WYSE keyboards from the 80's that I'm harvesting for it's beautiful vintage mx blacks. I have one compact 10keyless-like keyboard (http://i.imgur.com/2EXFfDv.jpg) and one full sized keyboard (http://i.imgur.com/77NsvNX.jpg). I feel somewhat guilty throwing away the pcb and the metal frame of this vintage keyboard, is there any interest in the PCB, keycaps, or case? I can provide pictures if people express interest.

If most people throw away the rest of the pieces after harvesting the switches, please let me know so I can do so without a guilty conscience

From what u understand they are pretty rare. But I'm not sure at all. Hence the post lol. Ill have more details tomorrow when my client sends some updates.

You can buy new MX clears for ~$0.50/switch @ 100 switches, so somewhere less than that.

Honestly, I think used clears (so long as they're used, old clears and not used, new clears) should be worth around the same. I say this because modern, new clears are among the worst switches I have ever used, while old, used ones are brilliant. When it comes to switches I don't think used is a bad thing.

Around roughly when are you considering old vs new? I bought these in mid/late-2014 (maybe) when MX clears were still extraordinarily hard to come by.

Late 1990s heavily used and anything past 2010 I'd guess.

Okay, I have no way of knowing when these were actually made, but these only saw about about year and a half of use. I don't think they fall into that old category.

Retail I think is around $1000 but I wouldn't expect more than $500-600 now, since it loses to the 980Ti in pretty much every category and you can pick the 980Ti up for around $600ish.

Most second hand full size topre boards I've seen for sale are sold for less than $200, some even closer to $150.

Brand new realforce boards are less than $250 from EK, unless they are anniversary editions or silenced versions.

But like anything else if someone really wants it they might pay more since it is not a common board.

Personally I've almost always lost money selling any board, especially topre.

Pop a keycap off with a keycap puller (or a paper clip bent so it can grip a keycap in the corners) and post a picture of the switch. I couldn't find much info on this keyboard from searching, but you can get an idea of what it's worth based on what switches it has. Also, if there is a date printed anywhere, that would be good to know.

yeah it's hard to find any public sales for them.

I have seen the pink blank set sell for over $200 and that is much easier to find. I am fairly sure you could get more if you wanted to.
