Well I'm sitting at an interesting intersection here. I want to run this for as cheaply as possible (I actually plan on losing a little cash doing this group buy), so Massdrop is definitely the top in my mind to do just that. However, I have seen a really well done process for group buys from both Originative and Zeal, and would love to work with them should I ever be fortunate enough to have that opportunity.

I like your thought process here and the fact you want it to be reasonably priced is a huge bonus to me. I find some sets are just too expensive by adding too many options for a few people.

Trying to decide if I want to add a 6u spacebar. Really thinking I want to add support for HHKB layouts.
HHKB layouts have become increasingly popular so I think it'd be a good addition, won't increase the price very much but will open it up to new potential buyers. Along the same lines, a second 2.25u shift would be a good idea for FC660 layouts.

If another keycap can be squeezed in, I would suggest a 1.25u Fn to accompany the 1.25u Code and Win caps.

- purple on yellow rising sun beams similar to what's on the Arizona state flag

Do we really need a dot and a bar numpad 5? I'd rather have one or the other an a normal 5 instead (or all 3), as I hate bars and dots and it would immediately kill using the set on full size keyboard for me.

Looking at the GMK Calm Depths and Eclipse ICs, another neat thing would be the 1.5u R3 Fn to swap with CapsLock or Control. Just throwing this out here. ;D

Started a new job a few months back, so it's been a while since I've been active on the site. Just seeing these now. They look really cool. I'd probably change the colors, but I love the idea of Sparx and the gems. Really brings back key elements of the game. Thank you for putting these together, and I'd definitely have these in contention for the novelties (albeit with a color change back to the set colors) if this set can make it to production.
Housekeeping on this. I haven't heard much of a response lately from the vendor I originally contacted, so I may be putting this to Massdrop to see what kind of traction we can get there. Let me know any thoughts around this.

I didn't have any plans for alternate F keys because I want to keep the number of keys in the set lower, but what were you thinking for alternate F keys?
Realized, I didn't fully answer drop timeline question. Well, that is dependent on if interest in the community spikes suddenly. If it were to be a big enough spike and I hit Massdrop's radar, then I'd probably be in the queue for whatever keycap drop roadmap they have, which would probably push this out in the more distant future. If I were to find a couple of reputable vendors who wanted to work with me on this, then I'd imagine a much shorter timeline from IC to GB. But, again this is all dependent on if we get an interest spike on this colorway.
When I initially launched the IC for this, I somehow landed right in the middle of a lot of people doing loud colorway ICs, which probably made this not stand out as much. Now that the community is trending back towards muted colorways, I'm hoping that this set will be able to stand out a bit.
The alternates Kit is wonderful.
I need this to feel different and special.
Super and Code keys are both fine.
Have you considered about using icon modifier?
I don’t think this set will have the appeal to split the numpad into it’s own kit. I would also prefer to see the f row alternatives cut and include the esc and enter alternative colors in the base. I understand keeping cost down for base kit buyers but this set seems so niche that the fewer kits there are will help hit MOQ.

One giant 'unit' of a kit really is the beautiful thing.Bento was an easy in for me. Everything I wanted in one package. Got spacebar too cuz why not
I felt a lot better buying a base set of Bento for $150 that includes a base kit (with a numpad), ISO, and Novelties and accent keys than paying the $192 Jamon costs for the same coverage with a few more novelties(?) (and I don't have to worry about child kits that barely made MOQ if I get a new board or want to sell it later)

My biggest issue/gripe is definitely the caps lock though. If it stays as just the symbol, it may be a deal breaker for me, it looks so out of place when every other key had text + symbol.
I will continue to take issue with the 2x F rows as I feel like it is unnecessary when it comes to a kit that is still trying to stay as an affordable option.
That quick mockup of the novelty would work really well imo, and to keep people happy you can make it be an alternative to the win key instead of doing 1u novelty. :thumb:

I'm not really ever going to see that legend. As we all know, that's the location that the control key goes. :)) So, basically, the render above is final set except for the "purse" to text swap.An upside down 'shift' arrow is sometimes used on Cherry ISO boards for capslock and I think thats a good middle ground between text and the purse, but it doesn't really matter, just another option
