10 months unemployment, constant rejection, and isolation. Over 300 job applications with a less than 3% interview rate. Flat broke, and out of resources. I've pushed this as far as I could but at least I can say I tried. I don't know why I am poison to any and all potential employers, I cannot even get a response from recruiters anymore. It is enough to make one paranoid thinking uncontrollable forces are conspiring against them.

It is ironic that the one time in my life I am doing all the right things and making my most valiant attempt at success is when it feels as if nothing I do is working.

I've done all I can, given all I can. I'm tired, disillusioned, and out of time. In the immortal words of Porky Pig, "Th th th that's all folks!"

For lack of better words, I've been there.  Unfortunately there's nothing a person like me can say or do to make the situation easier for ya.  From what I've read a lot of people stop trying after X months.  Sucked into the void of despair and whatnot.  Sounds like you're still avoiding that void pretty well.

NT,  have you tried OTHER jobs?

Yea, u know what u know,  but there are probably many OTHER occupations which would be similar..

I had an old buddy, he was a graphics designer, got laid off for a while, and couldn't find any graphics work, (this was 2000s), he eventually just did freelance html for escorts who wanted their own websites, and this guy took that money, and went to dental skool, he is now a dentist.

I actually know lots of peeps who went to dental skool after working high-stress jobs for a while.. Deciding it's not for them.

I tried applying for a job at Whole Foods and they said I was overqualified. At first I was mad because I took it as, "Over qualified to stock ****ing shelves? Really?!?" But then I realized what they actually meant was, "We looked at your resume and know you only came here to find a temporary job." Which I admit is true, but at the same time really sucks when you would literally take anything at that point.

got that tax return coming, so at least there's that to look forward to. then idk what

I think uncontrollable forces are conspiring against your ****ty resume.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Hey hey!

Had a nervous breakdown more than a year ago. Crippling anxiety. Starting using antidepressants regularly instead of antianxiety pills because they work better -- once you are used to them.
I had a councellor that I saw regularly ... that just disappeared. He went into retirement suddenly because of life issues and his office did not tell me.
After I had noticed that the pills made it MUCH easier to just ignore everything and just let the days glide by, I stopped taking them. But I have no idea what I'm going to do.

Don't think that I have not contemplated suicide.

Antidepressants and Anti-anxiety pills are known to INCREASE thoughts of suicide, especially on come-downs or upon discontinuation.

Animal food products are typically associated with poor mental health

Chicken has been linked to a variety of neurological and psychiatric conditions. Arachidonic acid, found at particularly high levels in chicken and eggs, produces inflammatory compounds that may affect our brains. Chicken has low levels of omega 3 fatty acid, a vital nutrient for the brain. Toxoplasma brain parasites from meat have been linked to schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder. Glycotoxins—found primarily in chicken, pork, beef, and fish—increase the risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s. High consumption of fish has been associated with an increased risk of mental disorders, lower testosterone (which can lead to depression), and chronic fatigue syndrome and depression.

The most comprehensive controlled trial of diet and mood finds that a plant-based nutrition program in a workplace setting across ten corporate sites significantly improves depression, anxiety, and productivity.

Just pot the whole chip in epoxy,

you tape up the little hole so the epoxy stays on the outside.

Surely if you don't "sell yourself" fully by listing all your qualifications and experience the recruiter won't know abouut them?  You could probably get away with lying about your previous job title and salary as well these days, it's not like your former boss is going to be doing your reference and the HR department don't know you to care beyond confiming you worked there for X months/years.

Alternately you could be honest in the interview/application - "Yes I'm overqualified but I need this job, I promise to stay for at least six months so it's worth your time training me and if you want me to sign something to this effect I will".  This would leave you screwed if the job turned out to be terrible but if it's really that bad you can just quit/get fired and "forget" to mention that job when you're next applying and again, who's going to know?

From what I've read people stop trying after X months of unemployment.

I bought a $20 replacement keyboard for a $20 nondescript 2007 laptop (hand-me-down).  I'm like a walking unchecked mental disorder at this point in my life. :))

edit - In my defense, the replacement keyboard is 100% unused.

I wasnt getting callbacks on jobs for a while when i was looking to change careers. I ended up deleting my degree and bam started getting callbacks.

I was also involved with hiring at one statge, i used to get hundereds of resumes. Even for a simple job, the one that you think wow i got rejected from that. The reason is probebly because there was someone in that pile of resumes that has skills in moving boxes or some other mundane task.

It sucks when applying for bulk jobs but you do have to tailor your resume to the job. I mean if you apply for the post office, say you were involved with distributing your old companies mail. If you apply for a supermarket. Lie and say you have expirence with rf scanners and stowage of parts or something.

The real suckiest thing, especially if you are an introvert, you need to find local people, befriend them and listen for opportunities. The networking thing is still relevant.

Alternatively get a security licence or forklift ticket if you dont already. Or consider moving states.

Look at mr fancy pants with the high class presciptions.

Dang, in that situation your whole family would need to be social influencers..  When I worked in a Pharmacy stocking shelves, developing photos, and selling the otc product, there were a few pharmacy technicians that were caught with their hand in the cookie jars.  Pretty sure the first step is to work inside a pharmacy (not retail front end--my job basically).  Second step is to be from a well off family so that no one is suspicious.  Obviously no prior convictions and a great credit history.  Second step is to schmooze with people that can afford the product.  I'm only going by what I've seen.  Florida is the one stop shop for all the pharmaceutical needs ya know.  Kinda makes recreational weed seem so mundane by comparison.  I've dabbled with dried things that were plucked from the ground.  Never had the inclination to get myself an addiction (cigs were enough).

I have an autographed poster by R.A. Salvatore that I know I must have put "in a safe spot" but I can't for the life of me remember where that is at the moment.  I've been poking around for it for 2 days now.

No idea where I've put the bluetooth adapter I bought a while back. (But I found my spare g900 in my search.)

I have an autographed poster by R.A. Salvatore that I know I must have put "in a safe spot" but I can't for the life of me remember where that is at the moment.  I've been poking around for it for 2 days now.
Typically I find whatever thing I've been looking for either:

1) After I buy another one
Or
2) After I no longer need it

What' s it like buying multiple BMWs and then finding your old BMW now having 3 BMWs.

I hate it when this happens with my Superyachts. I just keep forgetting where i put them. Then they randomly turn up in Ibiza once i have bought a new one.

I've got a few dedicated boxes for computer stuff.  Which range in importance and depth.  Without those boxes I wouldn't be able to type this post out.  Or click on the post button for that matter.
Yeah I've got something like that only it takes up a 6ftx6ft shelving rack plus some boxes that are just piled up.

That's funny you mention BMW, I've been having vehicle problems and the wife shows me an ad for a BMW just the other day.

Don't think it would be practical for me though, and not sure my local oil change place would touch it, especially not for the usual ~$30ish.

pffft, you barely save any cash when you DIY.  Not to mention the gas required to go to the local automotive place that'll recycle the crude you just removed from your vehicle.

You mean to tell me you don't just tip your old oil into the local creek?

It cost around $100 to $150 dollarydoos to get your oil changed in ****sville, probably more at a dealership. It cost about $50 for oil and $10 for a filter. The auto shop is about 1km away to buy these items. It cost about $10 to dump the oil at the waste station which is about 5kms away. I usually dump it when i go there to drop other stuff off so it is pretty much a nil cost as this covers a ute load of garbage. So it costs about half the price and helps me keep my hands off my johnson for 30 minutes.

But my car is a POS so i refuse to spend more money than necessary. If i had a new car with a servicing schedule then i would just let the mechanic sort it out.

Here labor costs are about $100 an hour for a mechanic so if you can do something yourself you can save a fair bit. At the same time, I have done stuff in the past that has dragged out for 8 hours and made me wish I had just gone to a mechanic.

Theoretically, if Tp4 purchases a larger Intel X-point , Tp4 could watch ALL of it simultaneously given enough monitors..
