They look considerably thicker than the (lasered) Cherry PBTs I used to have, about comparable with the stock PBT caps on my Poker II. Plenty thick enough! I'm very much looking forward to seeing samples, particularly of the dye-subbing, if we're going to get to see samples of that before the production run.

Personally, I'm just looking forward to what will be my first thick set and my first PBT set. I don't care if they're the thickest of the thick, just that they're thicker than all the thin ABS I have lying around here :P

I actually agree here. I even pulled off my KBC Poker 2 to get a first hand comparison with the pictures provided. The difference is negligible if at all. However like someone else said, we have to reserve judgement until we have someone who received the caps at the very least.

You have reading to catch up on if you are expecting anything right now :)

Group buy, not a purchase of a pre-existing good.  Order is still in the early stages of pre production since the first deadline had a bunch of drop-outs at payment.

Expect what, 4-6 weeks after approval of sample?  Someone correct me if that figure seems off.

I put in for a set of blanks and a set of dyesub, so I might sell one or the other depending on which I like more.

Just keep your eyes open once all the sets have shipped, I'm sure there will be some who want to part with a set or two :D

It'll still be a while (getting samples, starting production, getting the dyesub samples, printing, shipping, etc). I ordered 4 sets to help meet MOQ and may consider selling one of them.... or maybe not, depending how much I like them :)

It's my first GB, so I didn't have all that great of an idea how long these things take in production, so I'll have graduated and left the current city I'm in.

As far as timeline on production it is still not locked in. Still waiting for samples of 3-4 shades of 'black' to arrive to imsto for dyesub test. Once we know it's good they will need to fit the order into their production schedule. When I know, I will make an update.

Thanks for the heads up Darkshot and Oobly! I was planning to keep an eye on this thread to see when they start shipping and an eye on the classifieds in case they get posted after that. Just wanted to get my name out there in case I get caught up in something when that time comes.

As I understand it, PLUM is still waiting for the particular PBT material (still for the sample run) to be delivered from Japan... same supplier as Topre uses. Apparently they are stupid slow, probably sent surface freight.

How much does PBT vary? Is there a difference between the quality of PBT Topre uses and that used by other manufacturers, or is PBT just PBT?

I would guess there is probably some variance, but I am not an expert about plastics. I think it was more that it was the easiest solution to get the material from the same supplier due to color is a regular stock item.
