Tab pinned 24/7. F5 several times a day. Sweaty palms every time.

You're going to be having really sweaty palms for quite a while then  :p

Anyone want to trade their printed set for a blank? I'll pay the difference (+ whatever extra the offer is). I don't have much to trade, but I would be willing to trade Nerdom Keys from the SP Granite Group Buy I have.

Buyer jumped, so I still got a blank set to offer.

Hey, I'm interested. Sent you a PM.

It won't be that much long wait! From the sound of things currently it should be another week or so for them to make sure the new plastic material is good to go then hopefully we should finally be starting production phase relatively soon after. Worst case scenario based on current info these should be to you in September. Odds are it will be sooner than this, but I haven't gotten a locked in production slot yet.
Once again apologies for the much longer than anticipated time frame and thanks for your continued patience.

Any update from the manufacturer as to whether this new material was suitable or not?

Without sounding too forward here, is there any way we can start putting a bit of pressure on this?

I get that this takes time and patients is necessary in group buys but at the rate these delays are happening I'd expect the dolch set first..

Pressure on what? It's awaiting a production slot. These seem to be almost within grasp.
I'm ok with a little delayed gratification, its what makes this hobby more interesting than most.

There's no need to put pressure on anyone about anything here. It's not like there has been a lack of progress ... just a few days ago Ivan confirmed the PBT material is ready, we just need a production opening. The last thing anyone wants is a rushed product.

I'm sorry it's taking way longer than expected. Yes PLUM is being slow, but they are also extremely diligent on making sure a good product is made. Most of the time has been issues with finding the right color and proper high quality material. Instead I'm sure some other places would have just churned out some junk and been all too ****ing bad about it.

I did not mean put pressure on you Ivan, I hope my comment wasn't taken like that.

It just seems PLUM isn't seeing much priority in this GB and maybe there was something we could do as members of the GB.

Please read his post. PLUM has been putting in a lot of effort.
But sourcing the right materials for the best possible colour is slow work and takes time. The base materials are most likely shipped by boat instead of the plane from various countries to keep costs low. If you have to redo a certain run or source new materials then you get hit with delays.

Keep in mind this, Black Dyesub on 'Black', hasn't been done before. It takes some testing to do properly.

There will likely be more buys of thick PBT cherry profile in the future, although I can't say for certain.

There probably won't be another buy in this colorway for a long time though -- I think some people have already waited years for this one. If you'd like to pick up a set, some people are selling their orders, or you can post in classifieds once the buy has been completed and you've made enough posts.
Please PM me if you are waiting on classifieds approval or have a question about the classifieds rules. | geekhack Terms of Service

As soon as this is actually wrapped up as in shipped out to all of you I will start a new PBT groupbuy probably on white. I have no idea when I will rerun black/dark PBT sets again though. Considering giving POM which would be in black a run since they are really cheap $28 per set price. But, those will only be blank or possible with engraved.

I would totally be down for a black Cherry profile POM blank set. I've never tried POM but if I were going to, that would be the set I would want. Especially for that price!

If side engraved is possible this would be ideal.  There is only one board to have those types of keycaps and it was a Noppoo Choc Pro RF which was sold for a limited time.  Hell I love blank but I'd go with side print if it meant more buyers.  PLUM probably already set up for this.

Similiar to PBT but instead of feeling dry it feels "wet" and typically feel very smooth.

Like PBT it takes a while to shine.

It's denser than PBT and ABS, too, so feels heavier. IMHO it's the best feeling keycap material. It's "slicker" than ABS, but doesn't get "sticky" like smooth ABS. Deepens the switch sound even more than PBT.

I would absolutely LOVE a set of doubleshot thick Cherry profile POM caps!

I want legends, but that's a bit of a problem with POM since AFAIK they can't be dyesubbed, so the only untextured legend type is doubleshot.

I really don't like front-printed (ninja) legends... Got a Ducky with some and they aren't visible enough to help, since they tend to be hidden more by the angle I type at and my fingers. I may as well be typing with blanks.
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

Yes same thing as Cherry POMs.

Other colors POM might be cool, but I am not sure about doing another very long lead time custom color deal again... maybe in the future. Black is what they make normally so I think it would be easier that way and a LOT faster.

WoR alphas with RoW mods?

For PBT, those red and white colours would be alright, but I'd truly love that GreenTea colourway!

For a POM set I'd rather have doubleshot WoB alphas and.... doubleshot WoB mods. With POM it may be possible to use a semi-translucent white, so they will also work for backlighting  :D

I generally announce in the IC thread when it goes onto a buy so you could keep an eye on this http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=54708.0

I was kind of hesitant to post this as it's such a superbad potato... but here is a sample of the dyesub on a chip, not a key. It will give a rough idea of what we will be getting but the plastic won't be streaky.

Oh god I'm regretting getting the blanks only  :( but I guess I'll be able to pick up a set in the classifieds hopefully if I want them bad enough.

same here. I hope I could turn back time and change my order. I just got too many blank key set that my wife is complaining coz she cant use my keyboard..

Visionary Elite dyesub orderers unite! :P

That looks great Ivan. As contrasty as you can expect from dyesub and dark enough to still be readable.

+1 to doing POMs next.
I typed this post on my Slanck. I also developed a stronger, cleaner, easier handwiring method.
