Hi Bro,

I received my first Brobot, the Tahiti V2 today, and first thing I did was put it on one of my Ducky Keychains! And I heard a snap.

I'm not sure if this has been reported before or not, or if it's only this particular series of moulds, but it appears that the stem isn't compatible with "clicky" switches.

Luckily, I don't use clicky switches for any of my boards, so I haven't snapped the little nub found on blues/greens/whites/clicky grays.

Non potato pictures of Tahiti V2 will be taken later in the afternoon :)

I was afraid when I heard you say you heard a snap...was waiting to see part of the stem in the tahiti  glad it wasn't as bad as I originally thought.

Oh my.... looks like I need to tap a small hole for those. I am guilty of not every noticing those nubs on MX blues. I would be happy to replace your stem, if you like, sir :)

No worries about my standalone blue switch!  :) I'm just a bit surprised no one has noticed it yet. :P

I'm glad that no one else has encountered this problem yet/broken the little nub on their esc key. Maybe you could put up a notice in your FAQ for the earlier revisions of Brobot V2 that are affected?

Edit: You'll need to tap two holes, for different switch orientations (LED mount/regular mount)

Nice pictures though!  :thumb: How are you lighting it up?

First picture is natural sunlight (what little I had left, forcing me to shoot at 800 ISO) with a slight curves edit.  The second is a 2x3x4mm white water clear LED stuck in a Mini Maglight, the cloth backdrop piled around it, and the cap placed on top.  Then bracket the hell out of it to ensure you get the right lighting effect or, if you're one of those nerds, you can do a composite.  The second is unedited outside of cropping and watermark.

I was informed by Glissant that it's Ice.  I traded a Topre Jellybean Red for it since I couldn't use Topre since I have nothing Topre.

Actually, on second thought: you don't want a novelty cap on your 'Q' key; that's just silly.  I happen to have a nice little spot on my keyboard where this would fit quite nicely if you wanted me to give it a good field testing.

derrr...this actually explains why my goldbot feels kinda wobbly on my ducky blue board, but it seemed perfectly normal when i was testing the fitting on a loose clear switch lol.  never bothered me because I don't actually touch it so it never got forced down.

Congrats on getting the bot!! Prepare for the incoming PMs.   :p

And welcome to the addiction. It's unlikely you'll stop at just one.  ;)
