Arduino Nano 3
« on: Tue, 23 March 2010, 10:52:18 »
There is a new Arduino out, the Nano 3. I know very little about hardware, but I know there was some interest here a while back about custom keyboard controllers. Would this thing actually be useful for such a project? It's $35.

"The Arduino Nano 3 boasts an ATMEGA328, breadboard capabilities plus Mini USB support built-in, and a bunch of other tweaks -- like moving the power LED to the top -- have been made in the interest of saving energy and space. Other features of this new kid on the block include an automatic reset during program download, auto sensing / switching power input, ICSP header for direct program download, and a manual reset switch."

If it's anything like other Arduino's, it's just an ATmega with a few extra's.

We have Working Model M controllersa based off the ATMega32 with a handful of components. The shields and the PCB it is based on would, if anything, get in the way.

I did have a look at Teensy a while ago, and came to that same conclusion.

If I'm counting the pins right, it doesn't have enough of them.  Not enough for a terminal board, not enough for a regular one either.
Current:
IBM: Model M: 1391401, 1386887 Terminal 122 Key
IBM: Model F: 6110668 Terminal 122 key with Trackpoint and M13 blacks
IBM: Specialty: Wheelwriter 5, Boltmodded.  AT F layout, M technology.
Lexmark/IBM: M13 Black Trackpoint
NCR:HO150-STD1-01-17 Decision Mate V - The other Gray NCR linear.
