What's the point of using an EU-proxy that's not in the EU?

These keycaps will likely be delivered after 1/1 2021. We currently don't have the slightest idea of what the trade agreement between the UK and the EU will be by then. At present I prefer a proxy located anywhere in the world except the UK to a proxy located in the UK. Given the uncertainty it makes little to no sense for me to buy stuff I expect next year from the UK.

We might actually pay the taxes twice. We pay it now and if things go bad, again when we "import" the set.

Proto[Typist] is acting as lead vendor on this one, doing the negotiating with GMK etc and running the GB with the designer after talking about the project at a UK meetup and is effectively a UK community project.

I understand the concerns, and GMK timelines still show the set shipping in October. From delivery to buyer shipping turnaround will be 1 day, so its highly likely that shipping will occur in 2020 and we will be working with GMK to achieve that.

Whilst you are right that we dont know the UK's position within the EU and any shipping / VAT or other constraints in 2021, there are contingency plans in place to ensure that shipping can be conducted without inference of additional fees should delivery of the GMK sets take place in 2021.

Also, VAT will be paid on these items at point of sale where it is due; and will be marked as such when shipped if any delays push the delivery into 2021. The GB takes place as an EU transaction at the moment and is bound by the single market and customs union rules. Those rules state that goods sold under them should only be inclusive of VAT once. There will be many many businesses that sell something in 2020 that ships and is delivered after the changes take place; and both the EU and UK have said that those customers should not be impacted.

Finally, its highly likely that the current end-date of Dec 2020 for the UK to formally leave the EU trade agreements will be extended given the impact the Corona Virus has had on the economy and this is something myself and my accountant are paying close attention to.

Apparently it matters if the item was ordedred and paid for before the year ends so you won't have to pay import taxes. But set will be delivered before the new year anyway so you are in the clear.

we will try to match it with ws2-which means it will not be the same colour as RAMA Milk boards.
You can expect the colour of the RAMA caps be brighter than the milk boards

Hmm that's some very low numpad sales. Not sure if that's because everyone's running numpadless these days, or people running numpads avoided this set because it was a poor deal for numpad users ($145 for this set with a numpad, vs $110 for a lot of other GMK sets)

Any guesses as to why there are so many more orders of Rama X than Rama O? I thought they would be more even.

In a sense, yes. There are more sets out there that only chose to do the rama x option such as gmk deep navy or gmk vaporwave.

Wanted to update when i confirm all vendors are shipping but here we are.

Prototypist are shipping orders from the UK and non-EU regions, EU orders are delayed until Jae sorts out the import fee issue(Orders from EU should not be charged with import fees).
ThicThock is also shipping orders to all regions.
TX keyboards is expecting shipment to their location by next monday.
Other vendors are pending and I will update here when I have the info.

The light blue tint of these keycaps mess with my eyes.

When they are sitting in the GMK box, they look almost blue, but as I move them around the house, they seemingly change colors.

It's a bit of a trip.

Yeah I noticed that as well, it's a really cool effect, especially since I don't think WS1 would have any blue mixed in the plastic? In my warmer lighting office it is the bleach white. But like you say in the trays (guessing shadows cast from the ridges of the trays) it does appear a faint cool blue.

Dope set, wish I bought another one for another incoming e-white board.

It's not a shadow. The black is penetrating from the inside of the key at an angle. The grey you are seeing is the black behind a thin film of white.

Edit: I have reached out to thick thock a while back and they promised to replace my affected keys once the rest of the sets have been shipped. So kudos to them.

This is a simple QC oversight by GMK. Let's hope this isn't their answer to getting sets out faster.

Agreed! Also hopefully it isn't a super widespread issue with this set. Seems like some people are reporting no bleedthrough on their sets. I emailed TX about it already, will let you guys know what they say when they get back to me!
