So if I'm understanding correctly if what I want now is say $200 I need to have $200 available to be put on hold in my PayPal even if it will maybe drop to say $125 total later on?

yes, the full amount will be put on hold, but only the final value will be billed.

Is there any way to double check your order? The "My Purchases" page is basically useless. I just want to be able to track the price as more people order.

I'll try to post updates on tiers every now and then.

The icon modifiers ($59) is the same as the icon pro modifiers ($45)? Can I just get the $45 to complete my TKL set? Or is the pro and addition to the base mod ($59)?

No, they are completely different sets. You need common kit + icon modifiers to start with.

Could anyone point me to some examples of dye sublimated keycaps or sets previously made by Signature Plastics, please?  If any of them are DSA--even better!

I requested some samples, I'll post pictures asap.

For those like me who doesn't have a Pay Pal credit, whereby any Pay Pal transaction is charged directly to my credit card, what happens if the price of the base is reduced. Do we get a refund? I believe Pay Pal will charge immediately instead of hold on, in this case. This has caused me pause to proceed with checkout. Anyone with the experience?

I would ask directly to SP. I guess they will credit back the difference on your CC.

can someone proficient with image editing make a mockup of yellow WASD, blue enter, red ESC, yellow WIN, orange MENU and red arrows please? :) thanks :)

I'll work on some mock-ups in the coming days.

so i was too impatient and did my own mockup (only used copy/paste in paint, so please excuse the crappy quality). i present to you

THE DSA PBT UNICORN VOMIT!

Show Image

LOL... that is something :D

Please guys if you are interested place your order asap! Don't wait for the prices to go down, because if everybody waits we will never reach better tiers!

The Skull Squadron set --that was a very peculiar set-- went from 20 to 80 base set sold in the last 24 hours!

I'll have to set up a PayPal account before ordering. Hopefully it won't take too long :)

Common
Text mods
Text RGB
Extra homing
Blue enter (maybe)

This will be my first GB purchase. I'm so excited! I think I'll get myself a white TKL US ANSI Filco Majestouch 2 board for this set.

My tiny ducky mini will get a much needed facelift! Some good advice in this thread to mitigate the wife-factor, what would you suggest for a nagging bank lady? :-)

Buy her a diamond.

Will do!

I got the email for this set today -- awesome looking, I might get into this! The only problem -- the email message doesn't contain a link to the site! *tsk*tsk* -- how are people going to impulse buy keycap sets without a link in the email? They have to type the address into their browser. Too, too, long!  :p

if only the groupbuy adopts a method almost similar to Massdrop's where people get to commit their purchase at the highest tier.
their commit purchase doesn't reflect to the actual purchase until the total number of actual purchase and commit purchase reaches the highest tier.

just throwing some suggestion here.
but for this case, we know deep inside that the highest tier is very hard to achieve.
maybe SP can adopt an almost similar method where the commit option is at tier 50, seeing that tier 50 is where most kit's price drop to a reasonable price.

or another one is to have the commit option actively change to the next tier when the actual and commit reaches to the closest tier.
for eg, when actual purchase is 10, next tier is 25, the commit option lets people commit their purchase at tier 25's price. when the commit number reaches 15, the current tier price is now 25 and commit option lets people commit their purchase at tier 50's price and repeat.

It is a little unsettling to commit to pay at the current tiers, even though I think that it will pick up. A little risky...  ;D

That said, someone's got to take the plunge, and today that was me! Here's my order:

Common
Homing keys
Mono legends (whoo!)
Ergodoxian
Pro mods (text)

Excessive and/or SPLady: It may be too soon to talk about it, but it would be a way to switch sets in the final order? For example: If someone that originally ordered the text mods, that wants instead the icon mods. Better sooner than later  ;D

hm.. so basically the only way to pull out is for the gb of that item to not happen?

Otherwise express interest = commit = money given?

The way the group buy website is organised, it does not encourage people to put in orders. I don't know about other people, but I will not take the risk of spending $200 on this set. I will only pull the triger after next tier is reached. If the website runs like massdrop, I will put in my order right away.

Fortunately, not all think as you do, otherwise no set may reach good tiers, ever.

I think i'll order now but less than i want.
This SP way seems to me more a gambling, where they earn without taking any risk, than a GB or a sell.
Why would be the buyer to take the risk?

I'm not sure I get what you mean?
What risk are we taking, as buyers?

I mean, if you're one of those that absolutely does not want to pay full price, then I guess there is a risk you might end up doing so, but if you're like me, the higher tier discounts are more of a bonus, and the only risk there is is that maybe the kits I want don't make MOQ.

This is a fair, and accurate explanation on the motivation behind some recent comments. There are some people here that are not willing to pay full prices, so they prefer to wait until the items have reached a convenient price for them. Again, higher tiers mean a discount, but some understand them as the only price brackets that may be attractive to get the set(s). Anyways, I hope more of us see the fact that this set is not a commodity, so there is no other place it can be sourced.

That's what i will do "order what i can afford at the actual price tier" and not "order hoping for another tier" because i don't like gambling

I don't see the risk considering that order can be cancelled if you really don't like the final price.

anyway MOQ is 10 on most of the kits. 50 on the base. I really do hope we reach at least 100 on the base 50 on the modifiers and 25 on most of the others.

So, I assume it it okay for one person (say, me) to buy multiple sets of a child kit to meet the MOQ? Because if a certain set doesn't meet its minimum, I'd make it happen. As crazy as that is, that's how much I like this design and the work put into it. :thumb:

Have any of you ever ordered small run custom parts? This is a steal even at the first tier prices. I for one have put my money where my mouth is.

I'm in for practically one of everything:
Deal: Granite Set (PBT, dye-sub, DSA)
Deal: Granite Lost and Found
Deal: Granite Half-Ergodox Blank
Deal: Granite Nerdom kit
Deal: Granite Ergodoxian
Deal: Granite Text Pro Modifiers
Deal: Granite Text Modifiers
Deal: Granite Extra Homing keys
Deal: Granite WASD
Deal: Granite Additional Mods Blank
Deal: Granite Multimedia kit
Deal: Granite Apple Kit
Deal: Granite Numpad

The price breaks are just a bonus, I'm more worried about the tipping points. Buy, buy, buy!

I'm here with you jennb. Its worth it to me to order an extra set and put it on ebay or something if that's all it takes to get the MOQ so everyone gets them.

Correct if any of the kits don't make the first tip they will not get made.  There is still plenty of time though.

I figured the ISO stuff would have started tipping by now being Matt has been showing this on DT also.

I don't want to speak for Matt, but I guys if some of the kits haven't tipped by the deadline he could ask for more time.  However that is up to him to ask.

I know this, however people that make all sorts of suggestions in the IC thread, about having full blank sets, and the rgb, etc, yet don't place any orders because they are 'too expensive' get under my skin.

This is an awesome set, and my thanks go out to Matt3o and SP for putting this on. I would just hate to see it fail overall because people don't put in orders to unlock the tiers, which in turn makes it cheaper for everyone, which in turn gets more people to order, etc, etc.

if only the groupbuy adopts a method almost similar to Massdrop's where people get to commit their purchase at the highest tier.
their commit purchase doesn't reflect to the actual purchase until the total number of actual purchase and commit purchase reaches the highest tier.

just throwing some suggestion here.
but for this case, we know deep inside that the highest tier is very hard to achieve.
maybe SP can adopt an almost similar method where the commit option is at tier 50, seeing that tier 50 is where most kit's price drop to a reasonable price.

or another one is to have the commit option actively change to the next tier when the actual and commit reaches to the closest tier.
for eg, when actual purchase is 10, next tier is 25, the commit option lets people commit their purchase at tier 25's price. when the commit number reaches 15, the current tier price is now 25 and commit option lets people commit their purchase at tier 50's price and repeat.

This is a very good idea :thumb:

Untipped kits: I can't speak for SP, but if Skull Squadron has to be taken as model, I bet that if the GB goes well they won't mind adding the less fortunate kits to the manufacturing line.

Updated status:

I'm a bit surprised about the blank kits. They have been asked vehemently and nobody is taking them. Already at the first tier is a bergain ($89 for a FULL PBT set, including spacebar!), but at 15 tier is a steal!
