Hi,

I'm going to put a set of split keyboard pcb's into one case, to make one 'big' keyboard'.

Normally split pcb's are connected with a trrs cable, which would be redundant in my case..
Can I just solder 4 wires between the trrs points on the pcb? Or am I overlooking anything?

Thank you :)

welcome to the forum nuigurumi :-)

as for your question, I think that as long as you were sure you were going to keep this big keyboard as it was for quite a while then I don't see any real problem in using a more permanent bridge re wires instead of trrs cable
(in fact I've been wondering a bit about tkl+numpad pcbs in one single case too so you're probably not that too unique there!)

Sometimes they fail to flash properly while connected and need to be flashed separate, especially the first time.

Is this controller dependent?
Or something all controllers have?

I'm going to use Elite-Pi's.

A QMK issue in general, I think.

Thank you for the info, I might hold off soldering until I'm fully satisfied with the layout and it doesn't need flashing anymore.
