I think there was a little hiccup when the order was live and some were charged shipping.

Give it a couple days. They probably have a lot of orders to process.

replied to the email too, waiting for shipping invoice. Though, this GB seems larger than the Orange TKL GB, I think there were only 40 in that one. Anyone hear any numbers as to how many got in on this one?

Starting to feel the pressure to finish building the switches for this!

I've yet to receive a shipping invoice. Hopefully receive on in the next few days as I'll have no cell service for a whole week.

Fingers crossed.

Nope. I received a shipping invoice and paid but no shipping notification. Although I only paid this morning. I do not think mine will ship until at least next week.

Hi all,

Just email you guys an update via email. First batch will be collected by DHL today and I am again sorry for the long wait.

We are currently handling 3 different keyboard group shipping this week and well over 100+ boards to check, pack and ship. Will finish shipping next week.

Anyone who has received their kits, do stabs come with it? Having a moment of panic since that's the one thing I don't have handy for the build.

Does anyone know where I can get a standard QMK keymap file (.json) for this board?

I've never used QMK before and not sure I want to dive in to making a layout from scratch on my first go.

just delivered! Looks amazing!

At first was kinda bummed that the signal LEDs weren't included on the board, but at least now I can select which color I want to use. Anyone know if the standard 1.8mm LED would be what I want to use here?

To follow-up on this, the plate and case holes are 4.5mm. So, I imagine an LED 4.5mm or smaller would be fine.

DHL's tracking says my keyboard has an estimated delivery date of today...but it also doesn't say anything about even being out for delivery yet, the last scans was a couple states away, and it's almost 6pm already...but it still says it will be delivered today.

I don't believe you, DHL.

Here is hoping I get it tomorrow and with the Seattle mechanical keyboard meetup on Saturday maybe I can do a very quick build...

Anyone build theirs yet? Holy tolerances Batman!

Hopefully it's just the (ALU) plate I got, but I had to sand/clean up 9 switch holes just to get a switch to fit in. Also had to sand the space stab holes before they'd fit (and it's still a really tight fit).

I'm test fitting switches in all holes before getting any further in assembly.

update: Took more adjustments than I expected. Had to considerably sand a few of the switch holes and space stab holes to get fits. Down to my last few switches to fit. Not that it should matter, but the switches are using Cherry MX black bases.

Just got my kit in this afternoon! Had to squeeze my spacebar stabilizer into the plate but other than that I am super happy with this.
Here's the build log for anyone who's interested.

Btw does anyone know how to use the indicator lights? They definitely don't turn on for caps. I have the bootmapper pcb not the qmk one.

Hmm, are you using GMK stabs? I did not have this issue actually.

For indicator light. I have QMK and I soldered an LED on. Caps work.

What size are we supposed to use to open up the case screws? My 1/16th was too big and that was the smallest size I've ever seen.

Got mine today, quickly put it together.  Went with Kailh speed bronze switches and GMK Blue Alert caps...caps are a little dull but hey, it's what I had lying around.  Didn't have any issues at all building it...now I need to figure out the programming since I got the QMK version but I don't see any existing QMK layouts available to work off of...

The 1.5mm one from my driver set fit perfectly.

The instruction leaflet that comes with the keyboard has links to where you can find the QMK files.

Thanks, I didn't notice that.  I have everything set up the way I want it now.  Typing on the keyboard right now in fact.  Wasn't sure which code to use for the split backspace I'm using but then I realized there was an extra one in the function row.  It was a little confusing but that seemed to be it.

Overall I'm pretty happy with it so far.  If I have a complaint it's the total lack of any angle to the case at all...which I knew about when I ordered it but mn does it feel weird to type on.  I have to prop it up on something for my sanity...I don't know how you guys type on keyboards like this.

The is my first build with Kailh's speed bronze switches too...they're actually pretty nice.  Feel very similar to box whites except the actuation point and click is a bit higher (that's the 'speed' part...) and the weighting is just a tad heavier...which is a good thing in my opinion because whites are pretty light.  And they're not box switches so they shouldn't destroy my keycaps, yay!

Yea, GMK screw in stabs. However this was only with the brass plate, the aluminium plate was fine.
I soldered 3 LEDs on, only the top one lights up for me. I think it's a function layer indicator? Still can't get the other 2 to light up though :(

After seeing other's pics of their kits, I'm starting to think my aluminum plate slipped through QC. I had high expectations from the Orange TKL GB (which is still my daily driver).

I had to grind out 15 of the switch holes just to squeeze something in because they looked like this:

Most of the burrs were on the bottom 2 rows.

The finished board looks amazing! The MAO White looks more gray to me, and reminds me of a ceramic finish.

Album of finished build https://imgur.com/a/lSNSG9u.

Hopefully QC improves with future GBs.

Thanks for confirming, I don't know why I was thinking of a brilliant white like from the renders. I'm really liking the finish! I wonder if any other colors are possible with this technique.
