I'm wondering, do we really need to split the discussion between two IC threads for the same board? Maybe just use the official one, and a mod can lock this.

This is a refreshing design in the keyboard community in a long time, just hoping the chunkiness and LED functions to not drive up the price too high :x

I would still like some info about how that front panel is powered, pcb and panel both get power through one usb cable perhaps?

i love Laser too！ maybe i should put laser set on cyberboard to see how dope it is, but i dont have laser....

For now, yes, but we are still looking for a better way. We tried to add button batteries to the panel

What would be awesome is for it to be user controlled, addressable...

Lookup RAINBOWDUINO, maybe implementing it would be easier for you and more powerful to the end user, using an open standard platform seems like the best way to go for it.

Also please make sure that you have proper heat dissipation for those leds.

Typing speed detection of some sort. When you are typing slow, the leds are green. When you type faster, the leds will change color.
Not sure why I want this. I am a slow typist.

I definitely like the idea of a Matrix “rainfall” effect, with perhaps an ability to cycle through colors for that effect.

we've used 200 RGB LEDs（5*40）, and the maximum power consumption is limited to 400 mA. USB 3.0 can handle this

Cool. Is there any communication between the main keyboard MCU and the MCU that's in charge of the LED panel? It would be cool to at least connect the two of them via UART or I2C, to allow the possibility of controlling the LED effects directly from the keyboard firmware (e.g. QMK). I do realize that this requires some additional development effort on the firmware side, but if it isn't implemented immediately, it'd still be cool to leave it open for the future by having the hardware support it. Again, the two MCUs just need to be connected via UART or I2C for that to happen.

also, I'm sincerely asking, is it possible to use one main keyboard MCU to control all these things (LED effects)?
