SimpleJA attempts to recreate the vintage "cross-positioned" legends which were common on many vintage Japanese keyboards.

Many hours of research were conducted to create legends that are as genuine to the originals as possible.

Historically used legends from vintage boards were implemented wherever possible; those that did not exist were crafted carefully to match the others.




Kits




Base Kit - $75
Enough keys to fill most form factors below TKL size.

Spacebars Kit - $10
1x 6U Convex
2x 3U Convex
1x 2.75U Convex
1x 2.25U Convex
1x 2U Convex
2x 1.5U Convex
2x 1U

Numpad Kit - $12
Keys to fill a numpad, whether regular, all-1U, or part of a 1800 layout.
The order of the 1U modifiers are based on the style found on the NEC PC-8801 and PC-9801 series.

Ortho Kit - $12
Many 1U keys which can help fill ortholinear and smaller ergonomic boards.

Function Kit - $10
Includes both a vertical M1-M10 cluster for XT/AT inspired layouts, as well as a F13-F24 cluster for 122-key inspired battleships.


Timeline

GB will be open for 1 month (Until 09/02/2019). Projected manufacturing time following GB is between 45 to 60 days.

I just want to make sure I’m reading this right, but EPBT now has molds for convex 1.5, 2, 2.25, and 2.75u spacekeys? That would be awesome if so for Alice layouts and other split boards

According to what ePBT told me, yes/will be ready by the time this GB goes into production.

Most likely EnjoyPBT's default: Scooped and barred.

Yep, either the typical scoop+bar or no homing whatsoever.

Also, this set has reached MOQ.

Did ePBT ever make those non scooped homing keys (originally for Kuro/Shiro)? I know its probably too late to change anything, but if could be worth looking into

Reposting the info from Discord:
The set is supposed to ship by the end of this week; currently they are wrapping up the production of windowed keys.
They produced more than ordered, so extras will be available post-shipment.


Update 01/01/2020:
The shipment has arrived at KBDfans' warehouse. Expected to ship shortly.

Update again:
Sets shipping out. If it isn't shipping, it may have been bundled with another GB order.

Did you also join the Polaris GB? For folks who are in both GBs, KBDfans is shipping them together, last I recall from the ai03 Discord.

Update for those still waiting due to orders being bundled with Polaris units:
The last of the Polaris are slowly readying to ship out, so everyone will be receiving the keysets shortly.
Also, please see this update by KBDfans regarding international shipping issues.

When I asked KBDfans about it they said there wouldn't be any extras for awhile if at all. A bunch of kits were sent to Yushakobo in Japan and put up on their website for sale. Those sold out within an hour which is how I got one. Was really surprised. Love this set.

Highly unlikely but there will be a run of modern ja which is similar but has some design tweaks and is run in a more white color

join ai03 discord and there is a channel for it. long story short is it is very similar to simpleja with some legend tweaks to reflect modern boards (my understanding is it will be very close). Will be printed on epbt standard white

Happy to report that all units have finally shipped out, concluding the GB.

There may be future runs of this, but no round 2 planned for the immediate future.
Instead, I will be running an all bright white variant with modified legends under the name of ePBT ModernJA very soon.
