page titles on browser tabs
« on: Mon, 22 December 2014, 05:33:03 »
When you go to the geekhack login page, the html title tag - and hence the tab title in the browser - simply says "Login".

Apart from being bad practice, this means it won't work with automatic password management software, such as keepass. This is because the title of the page is used by such software to work out which window/tab is the appropriate one to attempt login on.

The login page title should include the name of the site. E.g. something like "geekhack login"  or  "login - geekhack".

The site name should ideally appear on all page titles within the site. But failing that, it's the login page that causes the most problems, and is the most important to fix.
