Best way to clean ashes off of ones self?

Listen, i know this sounds completely random but i'm afraid i could get this in my eye if i don't clean it out properly. I got some ashes on myself(as part of Ash Wednesday) as part of a mandatory mass we had to go to for school(my school is highly religious) and i'm just wondering how i could clean it off. In the past, they usually put the ashes near my eyebrows , which i find i constantly wanted to clean off but there was no sink near me.

They say " not to wash it off" though.
Should i wash it off at home or right here?

Were they dead person ashes? Either way that's gotta be at least +1 fire resistance.

The Ashes used in Ash Wednesday are the leftovers of Palm sunday, where everybody gets a palm leave and then returns it to the priest.
