I'm assuming it will be done through Infinikey since they have already proven they can do reverse dyesub really well?

We are working with the factory to see how much it will affect price by breaking it into smaller kits. If this works out, it will prove the idea and we will go that way moving forward. The new molds we designed should allow for it. Stay tuned!

Keeping my fingers crossed. I hope it works out and you'll be able to add an ortho kit - too often I miss out on these alternative sets because of lack of compatibility... Would love to get this one!

Reverse dye-subbed PBT via InfiniKey I believe. Does anyone even do good quality double-shot PBT in cherry profile?

I'm excited for this set. I really hope stays PBT.

The Base Kit looks great, only wish could add a couple white keys to that set. But otherwise, I could swing add-on Monochrome.

Hope the price works out well.

Just saw that more renders are incoming. Is it possible to make a render with polaris on the e-yellow colorway? That is my main goal to match, and would really like to see how they'd look together.

Considering the recent issues with infinikey's consistency, it's rather disappointing to see this set go from the golden standard of consistency (GMK), then to a mid-ground of quality and consistency (ePBT), to where it is now. If this was going through ePBT I was probably going to be onboard after pricing, even though I'd likely prefer GMK above all. For now though, this is a pass due to the manufacturer. All signs seem to point to this being a middle of the road manu, and with their new prices getting near that of ePBT, I will be undoubtedly passing for that reason. If you could get this back to a more reliable/consistent manufacturer, I'd be interested again.

Forgive my ignorance, but if ePBT is better, why not .... just use them? The manufacturer makes money on these runs I'd imagine, so if they can do it, why would any of them say no?

I think this was always going to be PBT, simce ABS looks nice until you use it for a week, so presumably that's why GMK is out as they don't do PBT.

From what I have seen with other sets Epbt had a lot of issues getting reverse dye sub right and are reluctant to take on sets with a ton of it involved. Infinikey on the other hand is attempting reverse dye sub on the regular and is going to improve as sets get run through. Personally, I would rather see this attempted in PBT than see another set go GMK. ABS is meh and GMK prices are insane. No one should have to pay $40+ for a freaking numpad, much less an UK iso set.

Hi,

I am currently having samples sent to me so I can see the dyesub quality in hand, but from the sample pictures it looked pretty good. Also planning on making one big base kit as opposed to having many child kits. Once the final kits are decided upon I'll post updates here. cheers

I see what you did there... "heard they sound much worse..." Nice.

I honestly haven't heard a comparison of ePBT and Infinikey tho. What makes them have such a different sound? Plastic density?

Haven't seen/heard anything about them sounding "much worse", curious where that came from.

As well molds were updated since katakana was ran (as seen with the newer CandyBar sets) so any comparison would be off for any future sets anyways. I will have my candybar set sent fairly soon and have an ePBT set I can compare to on a board but honestly I don't see how they would be much different beyond just thickness of the caps given they are both PBT.
