Ahhh, I thought something got removed. The thread seemed to have no flow. I have previously discussed clack collecting and the trials and tribulations. The last thread went ok for a bit then got derailed. The irony is that it is always the whiners and bitter members that derail them and then complain about the lack of dialog, discussion and secrecy. It is actually funny to watch.

At the meet, John was the most open and coolest guy in terms of his entire collection; clacks included. He had like a huge tray/bin of just Clacks and just let people go through and admire/enjoy his collection. Thanks for doing this John, I really enjoyed seeing a whole bunch of Clacks I'd never seen before. Those Lego head modifiers were so cool :D

I wasn't intending for any of that to happen. I saw the pictures from the event and the first one was your CC collection. I had to publicly drool. :D

These were from before my time. I see cactux trolling the thread and believe they were his baby. He should chime in. I believe a group was looking for a novelty cap that was something other than a 1x and was backlit. The mfg was a European mfg named Devlin (or Delvin). They are a two piece cap, painted and laser etched. Three prototypes exist. Last we spoke, webwit had the third which is a duplicate of one of these two. The GB was scrapped and never materialized.

@Cactux - Can you add anything else, such as time frame, process, material, or anything?

Thanks,
John

Here's a pic of my favorite Clacks in John's collection (I took this pic at KeyCon):

John has a truly awesome collection.  ^ the ones shown above are a tiny fraction of the total.  Since John won't brag about his collection I feel like I have to do it for him.

So many shades of every colour!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Fitting.

Only if he has short legs and a wide arse.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to.
