Mashby, save some GH caps for the rest of us!

Alessandro, can you post a pic of that white on dark grey cap? Just for curiosity's sake.

Will do tomorrow, going to bed in a few minutes. :)

Hey y'all, I have added the table from OP to the wiki: http://wiki.geekhack.org/index.php?title=GeekHack_Keys

Yes, it needs some cleanup work :) That's the next step.

Hopefully Mashby can get a wiki account soon; otherwise I am more than happy to keep adding info to the wiki page. Just PM me if you see any problems or have any additions :)

Just a heads up -- I am currently working on the markup for the wikitable (since the converter I used totally parsed it all weird-like) so please refrain from adding anything until I finish that part or the changes might get discarded.

Okay if anybody wants to check it out, here's a rough draft:
http://wiki.geekhack.org/index.php?title=GeekHack_Keys

Next steps: making the tables sortable and then the arduous task of photo documentation. Glissant and Halverson better step up since they're the resident collectors :D

+1 we need MOAR WIKI!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Wow! That looks fantastic!

Thank you sth!

I agree that the next step needs to be taking photos of each key to add to the list so it's easy to discern which key is which. So that we have consistency, I think everyone should just send me their collection so that I can take a proper photo with my instamatic camera:))

Seriously though, if there was one collector who wouldn't mind take individual photos of his collection, that would be a great way to start.

How are you organizing the pictures for this? Are you just making an album in your current photo gallery? I think I'd like to do this for my clack thread.

I'm new to the Wiki, so I'm not exactly sure. I would imagine the Wiki can host the images, otherwise, I'd have to post them on Flickr, or my own server.

Updates

Looking For Sources
If you can find links to any of the earlier Group Buys, we still have a few slots we're missing. For example, if you know where the Black on Red "GEEK HACK" key came from, please post a reply. Even if you don't have the link, knowing what to look for would be a big help.

The biggest gap we have is on the "geek hack" style keys.

Black on red.....black on red? Either I'm too tired, or I don't recall ever seeing that one!

Also, under alps, I don't think you have the white on red GEEK HACK one.

OK, well, maybe I'm confused.  :-[ I just got a black on red, but it's the lower case "geek hack" not the upper case, so maybe that's where I got it from?

Edit: OK, I reviewed your photos and Glissant's and I don't see any Black on Red, so I've removed it from the wiki.

Also, under alps, I don't think you have the white on red GEEK HACK one.

Yep! It's at the bottom of the page and links to webwit's giveaway post.

Also, do you know where the lower case "geek hack" keys came from? I have no info on that.
