Yes, that's exactly what I would want. For the stars and diamonds, we can use two of each of the symbols provided by batmann, but one Windows key and a Fn key would be great as well.

^ Ok, I see what you mean

I have no problem doing this if Daniel is fine with it

Make it so #1

Also the modifier set needs to have everything on the right side like the signature plastics modifier sets (the home/end, PgUp/PgDn, arrow keys, etc.)

Would these be the extra keys needed for the 1800 compatible numberpad? or is there a 1x "+" key also?

FYI the tsangan kit is supposed to have the stepped offcenter Caps Lock as well

The tsangan kit + numpad kit, for the 1x "0" and 1x "+" will provide enough keys to cover an 1800 board, so thanks for that. A bunch of them on will end up as the wrong profile, but there isn't much to-do about that for the couple 1800 people.

What about the toxic tsangan kit? that should be in there too and I think it would look pretty sweet. Although the winkeyless boards would still have to purchase the regular mods to finish out the toxic color on their board

Yep we need to add that one to the extra keys section

I would also like to add a center stemmed stepped caps lock to the base set, and one in the toxic color to the modifier set if people want it.
Additionally the "+" key for the number pad might need a toxic colored 1x "+" also but I'm not sure how the keys line up with the main number row so maybe it isn't needed. inlikeflynn can let us know
Lastly the sanctuary set only had the 1.75x shift in the iso set, so we may want to remove it from either the tsangan, or from the iso. Which would everyone prefer? I also want to include the "~`" key for pure compatibility in both colors so take that into account when deciding where the 1.75x shift should go.

Other than those minor things everything looks awesome and I should be able to start the group buy soon.

I like the "Toxic" idea, and a Toxic set will fit my green Gasmask keycap well. Nice theme, but looking at those modifiers I can not feel the scare of toxic yet, just think of a 'chemical' theme or something like that... maybe just me. Charcoal is fine to me, though I still prefer Black for this set, cause Black and Green is a badass couple.

I would like to have some Biohazard Esc & Modifier keys in Green on Charcoal (Black) & Charcoal (Black) on Green to match with this set. If they couldn't be included in this set, we should have a separate run for them.

/Btw, the VAT green we are going to use for this set is the color of those 420 smiley keycaps...

and it is very close to the Lime green of Topre keycaps in real...

And yeah, Topre have all the best colours.

this is the problem of choosing a colour jugding by what you see on screen (although we don't have that many options)
mock-ups in the OP are made with the VAT green which I believe is pantone PMS 375,
misleading thing is colours on mock-ups are flat, there is no lighting  so it doesn't shine

What about some custom legends for some of the modifiers? Something like what the original red alert set and some of the 7bit sets have. I think those might make a badass set more badass!

For the "extra keys" there is 2 windows keys, and the "tsangan set" has one. Should one of them be replaced with another badass key such as the beaker? Maybe a toxic hazmat symbol or something?

Great work !!!

It is looking good...
But....

Why is there a 1.75 shift in the ISO kit?  There isn't one on a standard ISO board, you also should label the extra ISO keys next to return and leftshift

On the numpad, some will need to swap the 2.0 sized '0' with a '0' and a '00'
Some will also need to swap the 2.0 height '+' for a '+' with another key above it ('00'?) but others will need to clarify

Rather than radioactive, biohazard could make more sense.

Anyway, I wanted to point out that id rather the Fn key not be in the base set. Most keyboards don't have an Fn key, and so it seems one is forced to buy an extra key to fill the Menu position.

Edit: apparently maybe costar TKLs have a Fn key?
I just wonder if it would be better to have a third symbol that could double as Fn and menu..

Well you should be able to buy it, with only one modifier set I'm sure plenty of people will pick it up.

So where do we want the 1.75x shift keys? With the tsangan kit or with the ISO kit? I'm inclined to leave it with the tsangan and remove it from the ISO set, but then fewer iso sets may be purchased.

Honesty I don't really like the new beaker, if it didn't have the lip I think it would look just as good.

The mods are still going to be expensive, even if there is one additional set. But hey, you're the organizer, so you decide which is included in the base set. I would rather have off color mods in the base personally.

Me either. I'm okay with waiting until after Christmas.

Hence my idea with the dual run group buy.

Yeah its kind of a bummer that it is, I also think that doing two runs of this may be a good idea, lots of people really like the cream cheese and green and sets are going for close to 100$ I think that if it was done in two runs people who are on the fence can make a decision whether or not they like it so that they're not more group buys like the Red Alert 2.0 and look-a-likes because people were unsure of what they were getting. I think that two group buys over a 5-6 month period would be a good idea. This also helps get imperfections out early like the stepped caps mistake in CCnG. This is just my two cents though.
If we are able to use the Cherry legends those have been, and continue to be meticulously analyzed for accuracy in pursuit of perfection. If we end up having to use WYSE then those legends are pretty solid and we should not have any issues. Now that the stepped caps have been worked out that shouldn't be an issue. Pretty much the maturity through previous group buys will help ensure this goes without a hitch.

Also the vendor pack may be made available earlier than the main set so those on the fence can order and see what the "TOX" green color will be like in person before making the call on whether or not to jump on the main set. If non double shot vendors want to get on board with the vendor pack this may complicate things.

I'm also curious would people prefer Windows 8 logo for the windows keys, or the older style Windows keys?

Show Image

This is an interesting photoshop. Am I correct in assuming that you changed the hue on the whole image except for the Terran key? It looks like the Ragnarok set if that's that case. Other than that I'm not exactly sure how you got your hands on a green biohazard key. :P

By the way, I spoke to Daniel, Biohazard key is in this group buy!

Batmann worked his butt off to get out the most recent mock ups but they just need a few minor tweaks and I can calculate pricing and start the group buy. I *could* just calculate prices and use the current pictures and have text noting what changes will be made until the images are revised. I believe Batmann is about to go, or just left for a vacation and will not be able to update the mock ups for a bit.
